NBA Bets of the Day 11/2/21
Milwaukee Bucks @ Detroit Pistons, 7:00 p.m. ET
Best Bet: Detroit Pistons +4 (-110) at BetMGM
Neither of these teams has played particularly well thus far, as the Milwaukee Bucks are 3-4 and the Detroit Pistons have lost five of their first six. The Bucks just lost three in a row at home and will now hit the road to face the Pistons, who have outscored Milwaukee over the last three games.
Detroit is one the best defensive rebounding teams in the league as they only allow an average of seven offensive rebounds per game. Saddiq Bey and Jerami Grant are expected to lead the charge for the Pistons in an effort to hand the Bucks their fourth straight loss.
I like the line here at +4, as I expect Detroit to keep it close and take advantage of second-chance opportunities to cover the spread. The Bucks are the better team on paper, but they’re not playing like it right now and their shooting efficiency is down.
The Pistons may not win this game, but I expect them to be in it to the end and cover the spread.
Sacramento Kings @ Utah Jazz, 9:00 p.m. ET
Best Bet: Under 221.5 Total Points (-110) at BetMGM
According to our NBA gameday odds, this is expected to be the highest-scoring game on tonight’s slate. I’m not sure why, however, as the Sacramento Kings are averaging 107.3 points per game over their last three while the Utah Jazz are averaging 109.3 points per game over their last three.
Both of those numbers are lower than the teams’ season averages as well, which indicates that both are struggling a bit on offense at the moment. Even if you add their season averages together you get 220.2 points, which makes the Under even more appealing.
The Jazz are also one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, ranking third in fewest points per game allowed at 98.3. With both teams ranking in the bottom half of the league in three-point percentage, it’s hard to imagine a ton of points being scored in this one. I’m expecting around 212-215, which is why I’m backing the Under.
Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 p.m. ET
Best Bet: Los Angeles Lakers -10.5 (-110) at BetMGM
The 4-3 Los Angeles Lakers will face a 1-5 Houston Rockets team that they just beat by 10 points on Sunday. The Lakers are one of the highest-scoring teams in the league right now, ranking fifth with 112.6 points per game. The Rockets, on the other hand, rank 26th with 101.5 points per game.
Los Angeles has won three straight home games and four of their last five overall. With all of their stars healthy, they should have no problem beating Houston comfortably by double digits again at home, making this our NBA bet of the day.
