Monday Night Football Predictions Week 9 | MNF Picks & Bears vs Steelers Best Bets

Last Updated: Nov 14, 2021

After starting the season off at 1-3, the Steelers have managed to bounce back and climb out of the cellar of the AFC North. Sitting at 4-3, they are right in the thick of things in the AFC and have games against the Bears and Lions up next on their schedule. Can they win on Monday Night and build on their winning streak?

The Bears have played better over the last few weeks as Justin Fields is starting to look more comfortable in the offense. Still, the passing attack isn’t quite having enough success, and it’s not going to get any easier in this matchup. Chicago desperately needs a win to get to 4-5 to stay alive in the NFC Wild Card hunt. Needless to say, this is a big game for Chicago and its playoff chances.

So who will emerge victorious in this suddenly very important game on Monday Night Football? Let’s dive into the odds and give our picks.

Please note that all Bears and Steelers odds and lines are current as of 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 7.

Monday Night Football Prediction Week 9

Fields had more than 100 rushing yards in Week 8 against the 49ers, and that is what he is going to need to do in this one to keep drives alive against the Steelers. Pittsburgh has one of the best overall defenses in the NFL and can make opponents one-dimensional with ease. Fields will need to find ways to extend drives with his legs and use his arm to create big chunk plays in the passing game.

However, Chicago’s offensive line is a huge issue, and that will be a big problem come Week 9 as T.J. Watt and the Steelers have arguably the best pass rush in the NFL. Heading into Week 9, the Steelers rank as a top-5 team defense in QB pressure percentage.

Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence on the other side, but they should be able to score 21-24 points at home. This is just a bad matchup for the Bears in a big stage that they aren’t ready for yet. Look for the Steelers to win this game by double digits in primetime.

Monday Night Football Best Bets Week 9

MNF Best Bet: Steelers -7 (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

The Steelers are usually pretty good in primetime games at Pittsburgh. That is especially true when they are taking on a rookie quarterback with arguably the worst offensive line in the NFL. Pittsburgh’s defense should have a field day on Monday night against this offense, and it would be a shock if the Bears were able to score more than 14 points.

While Pittsburgh’s offense hasn’t been inspiring at all, this is a game in which they should be able to have some success on offense. The Steelers are the better-coached team and should be able to win by double-digits in this contest. Take the Steelers -7 (-110) to cover in Week 9 as they look to improve to 5-3 on the season.

MNF Best Bet: Under 39 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 0.5 Units

Both of these teams rely on their defenses to keep them in games. The Steelers might just have the best defense in the NFL, and they are finally healthy. Chicago isn’t quite as healthy with injuries to Khalil Mack and other pass rushers, but they can still hold up against the run and make it difficult for opponents to throw the ball down the field.

With both offenses ranking among the worst in the NFL, it’s tough to see too many points being scored in this game. For that reason, take the Under 39 points (-110) and expect each side to struggle to move the ball. Defensive scores could easily be the difference in this game as this might be a sloppy one in Pittsburgh.
