Red Sox vs Astros Parlays Picks & Predictions Today | 2021 Playoffs MLB Play of the Day 10/15/21

Last Updated: Oct 15, 2021

The Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros will square off in Game 1 of the ALCS on Friday night with the Astros turning to Framber Valdez to start. Boston has announced a left-hander of their own, with Chris Sale taking the hill.

Both of these teams convincingly earned their spots in the ALCS.

The Red Sox won the AL Wild Card against their rival New York Yankees and then won the ALDS 3-1 against the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays. The Astros won handily against the Chicago White Sox, outscoring them 31 to 18 and winning the series 3-1.

This series should be action-packed given the level of offense both teams are capable of creating. Get in on that action and take a look at some pieces that you should be adding to your best ALCS Game 1 Red Sox vs Astros parlay bets today on Friday, October 15.

Astros Moneyline (-150) at DraftKings

I don’t think it comes as a surprise that the Astros are favored by a decent margin in Game 1 of this series. Both of these teams have the ability to score in droves, but the series will likely wind up coming down to pitching.

It’s wild to say that the Astros have an advantage in this department with Framber Valdez on the mound against Boston’s Chris Sale, but Sale has looked horrendous in the playoffs so far.

To be fair to Sale, he has been dealing with significant injuries for each of the past three seasons, but the Red Sox feel comfortable enough with him to start the series off. Still, I believe the Astros pummel him with all their right-handed bats.

Over 8.5 Total Runs (-105) at DraftKings

As previously mentioned, both of these teams can win on any given night on offense alone. Frankly, either one of these teams can cover an over on a total all by themselves. The Astros and Red Sox both accomplished that feat twice in the ALDS.

Both teams will not have their aces on the mound to start the series off and this should help the offenses find a groove quickly. Back the Over 8.5 total runs in ALCS Game 1.

Alex Bregman to Get a Hit (-195) at DraftKings

This is a no-brainer parlay pick for me. Alex Bregman may have had a down season from what we have been accustomed to, but he still crushes left-handed pitching and bats in the middle of the order.

He should get at least two cracks at Chris Sale and I expect a hit from him in at least one of those at bats.

Kiké Hernandez to Get a Hit (-195) at DraftKings

Speaking of lefty mashers, Kiké Hernandez fits that bill. Hernandez is a very fly-ball oriented hitter and he will be going against the *most* ground-ball oriented pitcher. Does this mean more line drives? I don’t know. But with how hot Hernandez has been, how do you not back him to get a hit off Framber Valdez or later on in the game?
