NHL Props of the Day: Best Hockey Props Today 10/13/21
Vancouver Canucks @ Edmonton Oilers (10:00 PM ET)
Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points (-135) at BetMGM
The best player in the NHL will look to get off to a hot start in the first game of the season against the Vancouver Canucks. McDavid posted 105 points last season (33 goals and 72 assists) across 56 games of play (1.88 points per game).
Out of his 56 games played last season, McDavid scored two or more points in 33 contests, or 58.9% of the time. The implied odds on a -135 line are equivalent to 57.5%, providing just about a percentage point in true value.
Out of six career opening night appearances, McDavid has logged at least two points in half of them.

Winnipeg Jets @ Anaheim Ducks (10:00PM ET)
Rickard Rakell Over 0.5 points (-110) at BetMGM
Rickard Rakell is not the biggest name in the NHL, but the Anaheim Ducks are one of the worst teams in the league and they will be looking to Rakell for additional production this season.
Rakell only had 28 points in 52 games last season, but his production should increase this season after averaging just over 50 points per season the three prior years. Look to Rakell to get the Ducks on the board by way of a goal or an assist.

New York Rangers @ Washington Capitals (7:30PM ET)
T.J. Oshie Over 0.5 points (-130) at BetMGM
T.J. Oshie, one of the most productive players on the Washington Capitals roster, will look to get off to a hot start in the opening game of the season.
Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is questionable for Wednesday’s game and if he is ruled out, Oshie should step in as one of the primary sources of scoring across the Capitals lines.
Oshie had 43 points in 53 games last season with 22 of the scores coming by way of a goal. The 34-year-old will look to help lift the Capitals over an up-and-coming Rangers squad.
