2021 NHL Prop Betting Picks Oct. 12, 2021 | Best Hockey Prop Bets Today 10/12/21

Last Updated: Oct 12, 2021

Hunter Hodies is here with your 2021 NHL Game Props for October 12, 2021. Which NHL betting tips should you use to make the Best Hockey Prop Picks today? All NHL Game odds and lines are current as of Tuesday, October 12.

NHL Props of the Day: Best Hockey Props Today 10/12/21

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Tampa Bay Lightning (7:30 PM ET)

Brayden Point: Over 0.5 points (-190) at Caesars

Point is going to be fired up for this game as he always seems to play his best hockey when the stakes are the highest. Yes, I know Tuesday night’s game is the Lightning’s first game of the season, but the Stanley Cup will be in the building and Point will want to remind fans just how good he was during this last championship run.

Point finished with nine goals and 23 points in 23 playoff games after coming off a regular season where he had a 58 percent expected goals rate. He’s a wizard with the puck on his stick and with how depleted the Penguins lineup is going into this matchup, Point should be good for at least one, if not two points.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Tampa Bay Lightning (7:30 PM ET)

Victor Hedman: Over 0.5 Assists (-135) at Caesars

Hedman is a point-getting machine and even though his last season was rough, he’ll be fully healthy coming into this one. When Hedman is on, there’s arguably no defensemen that can do what he does, whether that’s at 5V5 or on the man-advantage.

He’ll be quarterbacking that power-play unit for Tampa, which is where he’ll get a lot of his points this season, just like he did in 2020-21. Twenty-three of his 36 assists last season came on the power play, which is my main reason for taking this player prop.

The puck always goes to Hedman’s stick more than once when the Lightning has its unit running, so that sets him up to either get a primary or secondary assist on a goal. Hedman also has the puck a lot at 5V5, as he eats up the most minutes as Tampa’s top defender. But overall, expect him to help on one of Tampa’s goals.

Seattle Kraken @ Vegas Golden Knights (10:00 PM ET)

Mark Stone: Over 0.5 Assists (+130) at Caesars

This season may be the one where more and more people start to label Mark Stone as an elite player in the NHL. He scored at a 91-point pace last season and entered the offensive zone with control 80 percent of the time, according to The Athletic. It is very hard to get the puck off his stick and when it eventually does leave, it usually results in the puck in the back of the opposing team’s net.

Stone finished last season with 2.3 assists per 60 at all situations (1.5 at even strength) and let’s not forget that he added 21 goals as well. He can do it all, especially with the ice time that he gets on a nightly basis with Max Pacioretty and Chandler Stephenson.

With a fired-up crowd in Vegas ready to go against Seattle, I expect Stone to make his mark in getting an apple on a goal and welcoming the Kraken to the league in this NHL pick of the day.
