Nathan Eovaldi and the Red Sox are a significant road favorite at -265 against the Orioles. Before last week’s hiccup against the Yankees (7 ER in 6 2/3 IP), Eovaldi had gone 47 2/3 innings with 64 strikeouts (34 K%) against just eight walks, posting a 2.27 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over his last eight starts.

The Orioles have struck out 25% of the time over their last 10 games with a .232 batting average. Considering Eovaldi averaged eight strikeouts per start prior to the Yankees game, the posted prop of 5.5 Strikeouts seems very low. I will bank on a rebound tonight for Eovaldi (6-7 Ks) in a must-win game for the Red Sox.

Alex Wood, SP, San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (9:45 p.m. ET)
Alex Wood and the Giants opened a huge home favorite -265 against the Diamondbacks. Much like I did with Eovaldi and the Red Sox, I’m looking for a huge favorite with a reasonable strikeout prop in hopes that the starting pitcher is able to extend his start at least one inning to hit the over.
Wood has not pitched great against Arizona this season with a 4.85 ERA in his last five starts against them, but he does have 29 strikeouts over that span (5.8 per game). He has also tallied at least five strikeouts in six of his last seven starts.
The Diamondbacks are striking out 24% of the time and hitting .231 in their last 10 games. One of the keys with strikeout props is simply avoiding hot-hitting teams, which we’re doing here.
