Ian Anderson has racked up 16 strikeouts in 10 2/3 innings over his last two starts. He’s now averaging just under a strikeout per inning on the season (8.9 K/9) and 5.2 strikeouts per start to go along with a solid 3.75 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 22 outings.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are tied for the worst record in baseball and rank near the bottom of the league in most hitting categories, which should help Anderson get through at least five innings tonight. Given the matchup, the Over is one of the best MLB prop bets today.

Vince Velasquez, SP, San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants (10:10 p.m. ET)
I went against Vince Velasquez last week when his strikeout prop was 4.5. Now it’s at 3.5 because of his matchup against the San Francisco Giants, who have one of the best offenses in baseball.
Velasquez has hit four strikeouts in three of his last six starts, but I’m projecting just two or three punchouts for him against San Francisco. The Giants are 14-5 and averaging 5.9 runs per game in September, hitting .278/.367/.501 with an 11.1% walk rate and low 21.6% strikeout rate this month. They also jump on opposing pitchers early in games with the fourth-most runs in the first four innings this season.
All of this does not bode well for Velasquez, making the Under one of our better MLB prop picks today.
