NFL Best Bets Week 2 – Predictions & Picks for Week 2

Last Updated: Oct 12, 2022

Thanks for visiting The Game Day’s football betting coverage! Click for our latest NFL Week 2 Best Bets.

One of the most challenging weeks in the NFL to bet on is usually Week 2. Bettors aren’t sure how to react to what they saw in Week 1 and how to use that information when making NFL Week 2 predictions.

A good tip is to underreact to what you saw in Week 1, as those games tend to be a bit random. Instead, try to keep a level head about what happened a week ago and bet on teams that should have season-long success.

With that in mind, here are our best bets for Week 2 in our NFL prediction and picks series. All odds are current as of Friday, September 17.

NFL Week 2 Best Bets

Los Angeles Rams vs. Indianapolis Colts

One of the most impressive performances in Week 1 was Matthew Stafford’s debut against the Bears. On his second pass of the game, Stafford connected with Van Jefferson for a 67-yard touchdown. From that point on, the Rams never looked back.

The Colts, on the other hand, struggled all day against the Seahawks. They allowed nearly a perfect passer rating to Russell Wilson and couldn’t get stops when they needed them.

These two playoff teams from a year ago will meet in Week 2 for what should be a highly competitive game. While both teams would love to win this game, it might mean more for the Rams as they play in the most competitive division in football in the NFC West.

Rams vs Colts Prediction: Rams 28, Colts 21

Rams vs Colts Best Bet: Rams -3.5 (-110) on BetMGM

Run to make this NFL bet of the day for one of the most exciting games of the week.

If you were to ask me right now who the second-best team in the NFC is behind Tampa Bay, I think I would say the Rams. Stafford is a perfect fit in Sean McVay’s offense, and the Rams should only get better with more time.

Despite being on the road, the Rams should be able to win against the Colts. They are the far more talented team, and the Colts don’t have the defensive backs to contain Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.

Look for the Colts to hang around for a while, but for the Rams to eventually pull away and win this game by a touchdown.

Rams vs Colts Best Bet: Over 48 points (-110) on BetMGM

The Rams had problems scoring late in the 2020 season, averaging 17 points per game in the final four games. But with Stafford under center, this is a team that should average over 28 points per game weekly.

The Colts might make the Rams work for those 28 points, but look for the Over to hit here as this should be a relatively high-scoring game. If Indianapolis can put 20 or more points on the board (at home), the Over should hit with ease.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Chicago Bears

These two teams couldn’t be feeling any more different after Week 1. The Bengals are coming off an impressive Week 1 win in overtime, while the Bears were embarrassed on Sunday Night Football by the Rams.

But as we know about Week 1, things are never as good or bad as it appears. Both teams have some clear strengths, but the offensive line for both teams is a significant concern going forward.

While this might not be the sexiest matchup of the week, we should learn a lot about both squads in a critical Week 2 matchup.

Bengals vs Bears Prediction: Bears 23, Bengals 17

Bengals vs Bears Best Bet: Bears Moneyline (-135) on BetMGM

While it’s hard to love Chicago this season with Andy Dalton under center, they should be competitive against non-elite teams, like the Bengals. Chicago’s rushing game and front seven should be able to keep the game close.

Cincinnati has won just one game on the road in their last 20 tries. They just haven’t been able to find any success on the road, and their shaky offensive line will likely hold them back in this contest against Khalil Mack and the Bears’ pass rush.

Take the Bears to win at home, and don’t shy away from picking them on the spread either: The Bengals are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games.

This isn’t exactly the easiest Week 2 bet pick to make, but we can’t look at Week 1 as the whole story for the Bears.

Bengals vs Bears Best Bet: UNDER 46 points (-110) on BetMGM

With both teams having major problems on their offensive line, look for this to be a low-scoring game with the winner likely only scoring in the low 20s.

It’s worth noting that the Under has now hit for the Bengals in five of their last six games against NFC opponents, as they usually struggle to protect their quarterback in these games.

Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins

After one week, the Miami Dolphins are the only team in the AFC East with a win. The Dolphins had an impressive win against the New England Patriots in Foxboro and will now play their second-straight AFC East battle to open the season.

The Bills, on the other hand, are coming off a disappointing loss to the Steelers. They outgained Pittsburgh 371-252 but still found a way to lose that game.

If the Bills want to establish themselves as a consistent and reliable contender in the AFC, they will need to take care of business against a talented Dolphins team.

Bills vs Dolphins Prediction: Bills 28, Dolphins 17

Bills vs Dolphins Best Bet: Bills -3.5 (-110) on BetMGM

Despite their Week 1 loss, the Bills are still 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 games. But more importantly, they’ve won five straight against the Dolphins.

Josh Allen is 5-1 against the Dolphins with a passer rating of 114.3. He did not play well against the Steelers, but he should have more success in this contest.

Miami scored just 17 points against the Patriots in Week 1 despite forcing two turnovers.

It’s just hard to believe this team will be able to keep up with the Bills on offense despite a strong defense. So take the Bills -3 to get back on track in Week 2.

Bills vs Dolphins Best Bet: UNDER 47 (-105) on BetMGM

Miami’s offense is a work in progress and Buffalo’s defense can make things uncomfortable for young quarterbacks. If the Dolphins can score 20 or more points in this game, that would be quite the feat.

Instead, look for the Dolphins to only score in the teens, allowing the Under to hit in Miami. This game has all the makings of a defensive slugfest between two pretty good AFC contenders.
