The NFL season is finally here, and it’s time to lay down some wagers with the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts.

The Seahawks head into the 2021 season with Super Bowl aspirations. This is a team with an improved offensive line and defense that really came alive in the second half of last season. The Colts are headed in the opposite direction, with new starting quarterback Carson Wentz and dominant offensive guard Quenton Nelson each banged up with foot injuries.

Let’s dive in to find out what picks of the day you should use to place a bet in the Seahawks vs Colts Week 1 NFL game.

Seattle Seahawks vs Indianapolis Colts Prediction

The Seahawks bolstered their offensive line with the addition of guard Gabe Jackson. They also have a new offensive coordinator in former Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron, who hopes to play at a faster pace this season. This was an offense that got stale under Brian Schottenheimer and should get off to a strong start against the Colts.

The Colts came into the season as playoff contenders, but Carson Wentz and Quenten Nelson are currently nursing foot injuries. It’s going to be difficult for them to keep pace in this game with a limited Wentz. We can expect a run-heavy approach.

The Seahawks pass-rush, led by Carlos Dunlap, should be able to have a field day in this game. The Colts won’t be able to keep pace with this high-octane Seahawks offense. (Keep tabs of other betting opportunities for this game with our NFL gameday odds page.

Prediction: Seattle Seahawks 31, Indianapolis Colts 14

Seattle Seahawks vs Indianapolis Colts Best Bets

Best Bet: Seahawks -3 (-110)

The NFL bet of the day for this game is easy: Seahawks should be able to win this game by a touchdown or more with such an advantage at quarterback. The Colts offensive line will have a tough time with the Seahawks pass-rush, making it difficult to keep pace with an offense that projects as one of the best in the NFL.

Take advantage of the low spread due to the Colts home-field advantage. If this game was in Seattle, you would likely see the Seahawks as -7.5 to -9 point favorites. The Colts would need to win the turnover battle with their defense playing at an elite level to win this game. Ride with Wilson here, don’t overthink this one.

Best Bet: Under 49.5 (-110)

Even with Wentz back, it’s tough for the Colts to put enough points to help this total go over the number. This is a quarterback who was one of the worst in the NFL last season. You’re going to see the Colts go with a conservative approach on offense, which means short passes and handoffs to Jonathan Taylor. The Colts will play at a slow pace to try to keep the Seahawks off the field.

The Seahawks defense was a much-improved unit once they traded for pass-rusher Carlos Dunlap last season. They should be able to shut down this run-heavy Colts offense. We could see the Seahawks slow the game down in the second half with their running game if they’re up by multiple scores, which appears likely and bodes well for the under.

Seattle Seahawks vs Indianapolis Colts Same Game Parlay Picks

The Seahawks and the Under have a strong correlation because it’s unlikely that the Colts will be able to score many points against this defense with a limited Wentz at quarterback. The Seahawks would likely need to score 35+ points for this game to go over the total.

We could see the Seahawks get off to a quick start before taking their proverbial foot off the gas and pounding the ball with running backs Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny in the second half. It’s best to keep it simple here: Take advantage of mediocre quarterback play for the Colts and ride with the under.

Seahawks -3.5

Seahawks/Colts Under 47.5
