Rams Pick Tutu Atwell No. 57 Overall In 2021 NFL Draft
The Rams lost WR Josh Reynolds to the Tennessee Titans in free agency, leaving a vacancy in their wide receiver room. While they did draft Van Jefferson last offseason at No. 57 overall, they went right back to the receiver pool at the exact same pick one year later, selecting Louisville wideout Tutu Atwell.
Los Angeles traded a king’s ransom to acquire Matthew Stafford earlier in the offseason. They want to ensure his success by adding quality, explosiveness, and depth at pass-catcher, contrary to what he was working with amidst most of his tenure in Detroit.
While Robert Woods is durable, Cooper Kupp and DeSean Jackson, more so the latter, come with injury concerns. Look for Jefferson and Atwell to compete for the WR4 spot, but both should see expanded playing time should the injury bug hit one of the aforementioned starters in three-wide sets.
Tutu Atwell 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
Atwell is unlikely to return immediate fantasy football value in redraft leagues. It will take an injury to occur to Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, or DeSean Jackson for Tutu Atwell to see enough Los Angeles WR snaps to garner even a look on the fantasy football waiver wire. What’s more, Atwell will also have to compete with last year’s 57th overall pick, Van Jefferson, for snaps.
Tutu Atwell Dynasty Fantasy Football Outlook
The Rams have an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver. Since Woods (2026) and Kupp (2024) are both under contract for several more years, the path for Atwell to garner ample playing time is unclear, especially with Jackson and Jefferson on the roster. Atwell will really have to pop to bring any sort of fantasy relevance in the foreseeable future.
Barring the Rams moving on from Kupp, Woods, or Jefferson, I would not spend any higher than a third-round pick on Atwell in rookie drafts.

2021 Los Angeles Rams Win Total Bet
- Over 10 Wins (-110)
- Under 10 Wins (-110)
The Rams went 10-6 last season with Jared Goff, a signal-caller that most believe is average at best despite being a former No. 1 overall pick. With Matthew Stafford, the expectation is that the Rams will not only reach double-digit wins, but they should win more with their new quarterback.
Despite playing in what is perceived as the best division in the NFL, the Rams should replicate their 2020 win total at a minimum, which is a dreaded push. However, considering the extra game on the slate, 11 wins is not a tall task for a Rams team that deployed one of the best defenses in football last season. If Los Angeles’ defense can remain a top 5 unit and Stafford can get this offense going, the Rams will be one of the toughest outs in all the land.
Take the Over.
Los Angeles Rams To Make Playoffs?
- Yes (-185)
- No (+150)
The NFC is expected to be an overall improved conference in 2021 with the Dak Prescott healthy, and the Football Team landing a (somewhat) competent quarterback. Not to mention what the 49ers have done at the most important position in sports. All three of those teams won fewer than seven games and are projected at 9+ wins each.
All things considered, the Seahawks may be a team heading in the wrong direction, the Eagles are a dumpster fire and the Saints may not have an identity in the post Drew Brees era. All three of those clubs have seemingly been mainstays in the postseason in recent memory.
All things considered, a postseason berth for the Rams should not be difficult to achieve. Their defense would have to collapse and Stafford would have to faceplant for them to miss. I don’t like the odds, but I would wager Yes here.
Rams To Win NFC West Division Title (+175)
I can make a case for all four teams in the NFC West to walk away with the division crown. If you believe in Matthew Stafford, I would take this bet. However, if you don’t, then I would fade. It is all on his shoulders.
Rams To Win Super Bowl 56 (+1200)
It would take a Tom Brady-esque season for Matthew Stafford to lead the Rams to a Super Bowl victory in his first year with a new club. However, Brady and the Buccaneers are the odds-on favorites to repeat.
However, if I were to pick a team out of the NFC not named the Bucs to win Super Bowl 56, I can make a strong case for the Rams, especially if they once again field a top-5 defensive unit.
