The Baltimore Ravens pick Rashod Bateman No. 27 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday night.

Ravens Pick Rashod Bateman No. 27 Overall In 2021 NFL Draft

The Ravens got a new No. 1 wide receiver to pair with Marquise Brown and Sammy Watkins. They need to surround Lamar Jackson with as much talent as possible, so this was a good pick that could help him take it to the next level as a passer.

In Rashod Bateman, Baltimore lands a physical receiver who can make plays after the catch. He profiles as more of a target hog, so I would expect him to emerge as the WR1 in this offense. Bateman has a huge catch radius that will definitely help out Lamar as a possession receiver.

With Bateman, Brown, and Watkins, the Ravens receiving corps looks like a much-improved unit. This was the right pick to make because it addresses a clear area of need. I expect Bateman to immediately help out this Ravens offense.

Rashod Bateman 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy football players are likely to avoid Bateman because of the landing spot in a run-heavy offense. They’re going to be worried about the potential lack of volume.

This creates a buying opportunity. The Ravens offense sorely needed a possession receiver, and that’s exactly what Bateman is. I would look to target him as a WR5 who can develop into a target-hog WR3 with touchdown equity later in the season.

Rashod Bateman Dynasty Fantasy Football Outlook

Just like with season-long leagues, dynasty players are likely to shy away from Bateman because of the concerns with volume. While your opponents zig, you need to zag. Bateman has the potential to develop into the alpha WR1 with high touchdown equity. I’d take him over New York Giants first-round pick Kadarius Toney without hesitation.

Ravens 2021 Bet Tips With Rashod Bateman

All Baltimore Ravens 2021 NFL Futures bets are provided by BetMGM. (New customers get a Second-Chance Bet of up to $600 by clicking here or using the code THEGAMEDAY.)

2021 Baltimore Ravens Win Total Bet

  • Over 11 Wins (-120)
  • Under 11 Wins (-120)

The Ravens are a likely playoff team with a chance at a Super Bowl, but 11 wins is a high number. There’s a lot of risk in betting the Over here. While I wouldn’t suggest taking the under, I’d pass on this bet.

Baltimore Ravens To Make Playoffs?

  • Yes (-400)
  • No (+310)

The Ravens look like a likely playoff team, but this is too high of a price to pay. Pass on this bet.

Ravens To Win AFC North Division Title (+115)

This team should contend with the Browns and Steelers for the division title, but there’s not enough value here to lay a bet.

Baltimore Ravens To Win Super Bowl 56 (+1200)

This is more of a solid value pick. The Ravens have all of the pieces you look for in a surprise Super Bowl contender. Franchise quarterback, strong running game, improved pass-catchers, and stout defense. I’d lay a bet here.

Rashod Bateman 2021 Prop Bet

Rashod Bateman To Win 2021 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year (+5000)

Bateman is worth a look at this price because he has a path to become the WR1 in Baltimore. While it’s more likely that a quarterback wins, you can definitely sprinkle at this price.
