When Tom Brady left New England for Tampa, the Patriots fell apart. Though they were more than just a quarterback away from getting back to their winning ways, Mac Jones will have them headed in the right direction. Just like Brady, and opposite of current starter Cam Newton, Jones is a traditional pocket passer. What Jones lacks in athleticism, he makes up for with brains and accuracy. Not only does he know how to throw the ball, he knows exactly where to place it.
Unfortunately, the Patriots currently lack the players to catch it. Julian Edelman was their best receiver, and now that he’s retired, New England will need to revisit the position later in the draft.
Newton being rostered for one more season will allow Jones the time he’ll need to adjust to the pros.
