The Los Angeles Chargers pick Rashawn Slater No. 13 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday night.

Chargers Pick Rashawn Slater No. 13 Overall In 2021 NFL Draft

After signing center Corey Linsley and guard Matt Feiler, the Chargers continued to bolster their offensive line with Rashawn Slater. This is great news for Justin Herbert and company, as the pass protection should be much improved.

Slater provides positional flexibility, with the ability to excel either at tackle or guard. While he doesn’t have ideal arm length, he can provide strong pass protection with the athleticism to be a move blocker. Slater was originally expected to be drafted in the Top 10, so this is a steal for the Chargers.

With a franchise quarterback, excellent skills group, and improved offensive line, the Chargers have the makings of an elite offense and perennial playoff team. They’ll be challenging Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs for the AFC West for the next five years.

2021 Los Angeles Chargers Win Total Bet

  • Over 9 Wins (-105)
  • Under 9 Wins (-115)

The Chargers won seven games last year, but they should be a much-improved team in 2021. Herbert is a stud and he’ll have improved protection, so I’ll go with the Over on this pick.

Chargers To Make Playoffs?

  • Yes (+150)
  • No (-185)

The Chargers are a great value to make the playoffs. They’ve done a great job addressing the o-line and their defense remains stout. I’d bet yes.

Chargers To Win AFC West Division Title (+500)

While the value is good here, I can’t go with them over Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Chargers To Win Super Bowl 56 (+4000)

Now this is a bet that I’d be willing to lay a sprinkle on because of the much better value.

Herbert is an absolute stud, and a Super Bowl berth is definitely in the realm of possibility, or at least more likely than the odds suggest, especially with the improvements on the O-line. Great value here.
