There is a reason why BYU’s Zach Wilson is slated with (-3000) odds if you take the Under 2.5 on his Draft position Bet. Outside of Trevor Lawrence going No. 1 overall to the Jaguars, Wilson is the second biggest NFL Draft bet lock you can take.
One of the most vital issues that Jets brass could have with Wilson is his injury history. Importantly, a shoulder injury back in 2019 leading to surgery to repair a torn labrum entering and impacting his sophomore campaign at Brigham Young.
However, per a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport in early April, the Jets are not concerned about Wilson’s shoulder or injury track record. In fact, not only did the Jets fail to wait to see the results of his physical to “feel confident" in Wilson’s shoulder, but they also have “zero issues about his shoulder issues," per information received from “trusted medical sources.
#BYU QB Zach Wilson, who many believe is #Jets pick at No. 2, had shoulder surgery in 2019. But the #Jets didn’t need to wait for his Indy physical to feel confident in his shoulder. Based on info they’ve received from trusted medical sources, zero issues about Wilson’s shoulder.

In addition to his shoulder injury, Wilson also played through a wrist injury in that 2019 campaign.
Despite a down 2019 season in which Wilson threw for 2,382 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while missing four games, the projected de facto No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft bounced back with a vengeance in 2020, passing for 3,692 yards with 33 touchdowns and three picks, which might have ultimately solidified his draft position.
Wilson is also a fit for the Jets, who brought in Mike LaFleur as their new offensive coordinator this offseason. LaFleur deploys a stretch-zone running scheme that opens up the pass. You need to employ a mobile quarterback to make it work. Mobility is one of Wilson’s bread and butter tool’s in his skillset. A quarterback must also have the ability to throw on the run with pinpoint accuracy, another one of Wilson’s signature traits.
It sounds like Wilson to the Jets is a match made in heaven. Unless the Jets, Jet, and try to get cute, Wilson landing with the Jets at the No. 2 overall pick is a forgone conclusion.
I don’t love the odds. You need to wager $50 to win $51.67 including your initial stake at BetMGM. However, if you want to bet big on what is believed to be a sure thing, then is your play.
Zach Wilson to Be Drafted as the No. 2 Overall Pick (-2500)
Make this bet now at BetMGM.
For slightly better odds set at (-2500), you can also bet Zach Wilson to be selected as the No. 2 overall picks. Since there is very little movement on Wilson’s Draft Position wager — the Over/ Under is 2.5 shown above — Wilson can either go as the first or second pick.
If you believe that Wilson will indeed go second overall, take this bet instead and pick up a (+500) swing in the odds. A $50 wager will return $52 including your original stake.
Hey, it’s an improvement from (-3000).
