2021 NBA MVP Favorites
Nikola Jokic (-175)
Jokic has been considered one of the best big men in the league for quite some time now. Averaging nearly 27 points per game to go with nearly 11 rebounds and almost 9 assists, the former second-round pick from Serbia is the current favorite to take the NBA’s top award this season.
The Nuggets surging in the standings doesn’t hurt his case either. Since the addition of Aaron Gordon, the Nuggets have been on a roll only losing two games and they have been able to climb up to the 4 seed in the standings.
Joel Embiid (+300)
Embiid has been simply remarkable this season. His 29.4 ppg and 11.1 rpg have been astonishing as well as the fact his 76ers are battling for the 1 seed despite Embiid missing 18 games so far this season. If the 76ers are able to slide in above Brooklyn after their disappointment last season and a coaching change this year, it will secure an MVP for Joel Embiid.
Damian Lillard (+1000)
Damian Lillard has been on fire this season for the Portland Trail Blazers. It seems like year after year Lillard puts up stellar numbers and just misses out on a potential MVP run, but this year may be his chance.
Averaging 28.7 ppg with nearly 8 assists this season, Lillard just continues to impress season after season. Lillard was without backcourt teammate CJ McCollum for nearly 2 months, but somehow the Blazers were not only able to stay in the playoffs, but they were also able to make a run at a potential 4 seed.
If somehow the Blazers can go on a run and climb to the 3 seed or better, it would be very likely for Lillard to win his first-ever MVP award.
2021 NBA MVP Sleeper Pick
Donovan Mitchell (+15000)
Remember years ago when it seemed like the NBA would just award the MVP award to the best player from the 1 seed in the West? Who’s to say with a race this close that the league may see fit to give the award to the best player on the team that has the best record in the league and has dominated since the start of the season, the Utah Jazz.
Mitchell has led the NBA’s top team to a 40 win season already and the league’s best home record of 24-2. He’s averaging 26.3 points per game this season and the Jazz seem to be on fire heading to the NBA playoffs.
