Gonzaga vs UCLA Bet: 2021 March Madness Final Four Pick. March Madness rolls on, and we have finally made it to the Final Four! The top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs will take on an eleven-seeded UCLA Bruins team.
From First Four to Final Four, not many people expected UCLA to make it this far. They barely made the tourney after an overtime affair with the Spartans from Michigan State. Knocking off Alabama and Michigan, the Bruins are no joke.
On the other hand, the Gonzaga Bulldogs were always expected to make it this far. With future NBA Lottery Pick Jalen Suggs averaging 12.3 points per game during his freshman season, the Bulldogs play a phenomenal brand of team ball. Sophomore forward Drew Timme is going to be a name to remember for this matchup, averaging over 20 points per game. Senior forward Corey Kispert brings the coveted team leadership to the Bulldogs and adds 17.3 points per game while doing so.

UCLA has been able to collect a myriad of impressive wins throughout the entire tournament. After the OT thriller with Michigan State, the Bruins upset BYU by 11 points, took down ACU in blowout fashion by 20, beat Alabama in the Sweet 16 by 10 points and upset No. 1 seeded Michigan in the Elite 8.
This Gonzaga bunch has done what everyone expected and annihilated any team that stood in their way. After beating Norfolk State by 43 in the first round, the Zags have taken down Oklahoma, Creighton and USC by scores of over double digits. Nobody has come close to even touching the Bulldogs on this run.

After a 13-6 record in the regular season, there’s no denying that these UCLA Bruins are red hot right now, despite a few closer victories to stay afloat. For Gonzaga, they have barely even been tested.

The first test for the Zags comes in the Final Four. Mick Cronin has this UCLA bunch playing with passion after nobody expected them to make it this far. Their small-ball approach could cause headaches for Timmie and the Zags in a similar fashion to what happened versus Michigan. As long as the Bruins stay out of foul trouble, I am expecting this to be Gonzaga’s closest game, with UCLA covering the 14 point spread.
As much as it pains me to bet the Under, it seems like the sensible choice here. At the end of the day, this is college basketball. A combined 146 would be a tough number to crack, especially because the Bruins are going to try to keep this low-scoring due to their streaky point. For that large of a point total, I couldn’t justify betting the Over here.
