Super Bowl 60 Game Props
Shortest Touchdown: Over 1.5 Yards (+100)
Eight of the last 10 Super Bowls have featured a one-yard touchdown, so I’m going against recent history with this Super Bowl prop bet.
However, the Patriots and Seahawks haven’t scored (or allowed) a one-yard touchdown in the postseason. These two teams have been playing defense at an extremely high level lately, so I expect this to be a lower-scoring game.
DraftKings has the total touchdowns line set at 4.5, with the Over (-154) slightly juiced compared to the Under (+120). Interestingly, the line on total rushing touchdowns is set at 2.5 and heavily juiced to the Under (-250).
A one-yard touchdown feels way more likely to come via the run than the pass, so I’ll take my chances on the Super Bowl’s shortest touchdown spanning at least two yards as my NFL pick of the day.
Correct Score: Seahawks 28, Patriots 24 (+15000)
I don’t typically advocate betting correct-score props, especially in high-scoring sports, but I can make an exception for the Super Bowl.
New England beat Seattle 28-24 in Super Bowl 49, thanks to Malcolm Butler’s game-sealing interception of Russell Wilson near the goal line.
Wouldn’t it be poetic if the Seahawks returned the favor 11 years later?
While my official pick from our Super Bowl predictions was 27-17 Seahawks (+9000), I’ll probably put a small wager on both scores at these longshot odds.

How Super Bowl Prop Betting Works
Super Bowl Prop Betting is when you place a wager on a specific outcome. The sportsbook sets a line, and you need to bet Over or Under. In some instances, the options may also be Yes or No.
Some props also include several choices with different odds that provide varying payouts. In total, you can pick from Game Props, Player Props, Novelty Props, and Futures Props. Let’s dive in and explain each type of prop.
Game Props
Game Props refer to general outcomes that don’t pertain to a specific player. You can bet on events such as the total number of sacks, the longest field goal, the longest passing touchdown, and much more.
For example, I could bet Over 50.5 yards (-110) on the longest field goal. If either kicker makes a field goal of 51 yards or longer, I would win this bet. If the longest field goal is 50 yards or fewer, I would lose this wager.
Since the line is -110, I would be risking 1.1x my bet, meaning my stake would be $110 to win $100. These types of props are usually set at -110 odds (or close to it) for both outcomes.
Player Props
Player props involve outcomes for specific players. You can bet on a player’s total yards, touchdowns, receptions, sacks, and much more.
For example, I could bet Over 228.5 passing yards (-111) for Sam Darnold. If Darnold throws for 229 yards or more, I would win this wager. If he fails to eclipse this total, I would lose the bet.
Unfortunately, once your player steps on the field, the bet is locked in. Even if Darnold gets hurt in the first quarter, I would still lose. Sportsbooks have a rule that states that if a player plays at least one snap, the bet is live. However, some are now becoming more lenient and providing injury insurance, which can cover for injuries that take place in the first quarter or first half of games. Be sure to check each sportsbook’s policy before placing your bets.
The lines on player props are often more diverse than those for game props. Favored outcomes will require a higher stake, usually at a moneyline of -120 or higher. You may also find some player props with plus-money odds, where the payout is greater than the stake.
Novelty Props
Novelty props involve outcomes that don’t have anything to do with the players or the game, but with specific events revolving around the Super Bowl. These usually include random events such as the length of the National Anthem or the color of the Gatorade dumped on the winning coach after the game.
An example of this would be if I bet Over two minutes for the length of the National Anthem. If Charlie Puth takes longer than that to complete his rendition, I would win my bet. If you’re betting on the color of the Gatorade, you’ll have a few options, each with different moneylines, such as orange (+225), green (+260), blue (+260), and more.
Futures Props
Futures Props are bets that can be placed on the Super Bowl before the game is played, even well in advance. These wagers are settled at the end of the game. Some examples of Super Bowl futures props are the Super Bowl MVP and Super Bowl Winner.
You can make a Super Bowl futures prop bet even before the two competitors are decided. For example, I could bet on any team to win Super Bowl 61, such as the Buffalo Bills (+1000).
When betting on the Super Bowl MVP, you have several choices, each with varying odds based on their likelihood of winning the award. For example, if the Seattle Seahawks are in the Super Bowl, quarterback Sam Darnold (+135) would likely be the heavy favorite.

Super Bowl Prop Betting Strategy
Your Super Bowl Prop Betting strategy should start with player props. Player props tend to be more predictable than other props. You can research the player’s production for the season as well as the opposing matchup to get a better idea of which side you’d prefer.
First, I would choose my favorite player props and place straight bets on them. Don’t pile them into a parlay because you could then get most of the picks right, but still come away with zero profit.
I tend to focus my player prop plays on yardage stats because they are easier to project. Yardage props are ideal because you can look at their season-long production, such as average yards per game. You can also view their volume stats, such as target share, which is the percentage of team targets for each player. This is great for receiving props.
Touchdowns can be random, so I’d avoid betting on a player to score a touchdown. You should also ignore pass and rush attempts because these are more affected by game flow. For example, if Drake Maye throws a 60-yard touchdown pass, that’s bad news if you bet the Over on his pass attempts.
Next, I would find correlated player props to combine for a Same Game Parlay. For example, I could pair Drake Maye Under 222.5 passing yards with Mack Hollins Under 2.5 receptions. If Maye struggles against Seattle’s defense, the chances are high that one of his lesser-used targets will falter as well. Correlation is the best way to create your Same Game Parlays.
While watching the game, I’d keep an eye on any live player props bets that stick out to me. For example, if I notice that wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is barely seeing the field, I would try to bet the Under on his live player prop for receptions.
I would suggest avoiding Novelty Props because these bets are totally random. You aren’t able to project the coin toss, how long a singer will take to finish the National Anthem, or what color the Gatorade will be. These are fun props in name only, but they’re bad bets that can eat away at your bankroll.
To finish off my Super Bowl prop betting strategy, I would place a Super Bowl MVP wager on the quarterback of the team I think will win. By doing this, you’re essentially getting a better-priced moneyline on the team you think wins, as quarterbacks tend to take home this award.
