The NBA All-Star Saturday lineup will look a little different in 2026.
Shooting Stars, a timed team shooting competition, will return to All-Star weekend for the first time since 2015 and replace the Skills Competition.
For those who don’t remember NBA Shooting Stars, the competition will see four teams of three players (two current NBA stars and a retired NBA legend) try to score from seven different points on the floor in a set order.
Below, we’ll further discuss the format after digging into the rosters, odds, and my predictions for the 2026 NBA Shooting Stars.

NBA Shooting Stars Best Bet
Team Knicks (+150)
While we haven’t seen the Shooting Stars challenge in a while, I feel like this team has the perfect balance for this event.
Brunson and Towns are elite scorers who can make shots from anywhere, and Allan Houston ranks second in Knicks’ history in made threes.
Given that three of the seven spots are behind the arc, that could come in handy.
Back Team Knicks with your NBA bet of the day.
NBA Shooting Stars Contender
Team Cameron (+250)
If you want to take a chance on a team further down the odds board, consider backing Team Cameron.
Kon Knueppel is competing in the 3-Point Contest, so this team has an elite marksman who will have already warmed up and gotten the jitters out, and Jalen Johnson is a multi-level scorer who is enjoying a career-best season.
Corey Maggette is the youngest legend participating, and he’ll also have the home crowd behind him after spending nearly a decade with the Clippers.

NBA Shooting Stars Format
Kia Shooting Stars will consist of two rounds, with the two teams that score the most points in Round 1 advancing to the Final Round.
During each round, teams will have 70 seconds to score points from the seven shooting locations on the court.
Each player on a team will shoot from each spot (1-7), and the team must progress from spot 1 to spot 7 in order. The team must also have all three players shoot in the same order at each spot.
Any violations of those rules could result in points not counting or a player not being allowed to shoot again at that spot.
Players will attempt one shot each at spots 1-6, and can attempt as many shots as time permits at spot 7, so long as they continue to shoot in order.
Made baskets from spots 1, 2, 3, and 5 are worth two points. Shots made from spots 4 and 6 are worth three points. And shots made from spot 7, the long-range 3-pointer, are worth four points.
If a tiebreaker is required in Round 1, the teams will start over, but with only 30 seconds on the clock. A Final Round tiebreaker would see teams compete again over the prescribed 70 seconds.
