NFL Prop Bets Week 17

Last Updated: Dec 29, 2023

After staying in the .500 range for a few weeks, I hit on three of five recommended player props in Week 16. The overall record is now 62-77 heading into the penultimate week of the regular season, as the worst overall stretch is now behind.

I will look to finish the season strong, and this week, I am counting on the 49ers and Rams to help position me for a winning record.

Week 17 NFL Prop Bets

NFL Week 17 odds used for prop bets are current as of Thursday, Dec. 28.

49ers @ Commanders: SF To Win Both Halves (-110)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1.5 Units

Expect the 49ers to dominate after being toppled at home in an embarrassing loss to Baltimore. Brock Purdy will bounce back, and the Niners will roll against the NFL’s worst defense.

Washington has made a QB switch to Jacoby Brissett late in the season for this game. While the veteran backup is a respectable option, the Commanders won’t be able to hang with an elite team that will be highly motivated to run away with a win after a big loss.

Ravens vs Dolphins: Both Teams To Score 20+ Points (+100)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

The Ravens certainly have demonstrated that they can handle other top teams. However, Miami is coming off a win over Dallas and will be well prepared to ensure they do not get blown out by Baltimore as San Francisco and Detroit were. The Dolphins have the best offense in the NFL, and they won’t be fully stifled even if the Ravens win.

Baltimore has scored 30-plus points in seven of their last nine games, and Miami has scored 27-plus in four of its last five.

Back the Ravens and Dolphins to deliver a healthy amount of points as your NFL bet of the day.

Seahawks vs Steelers: SEA To Win From Behind (+180)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

The Seahawks have historically played many close games under Pete Carroll, who always preaches about winning the game in the fourth quarter. Seattle is tied for the NFL lead with five game-winning drives, including one in each of their last two victories.

Pulling out games late is a Carroll specialty and will be necessary in a matchup where both teams need the win for their playoff outlooks. Pittsburgh will battle hard and will lead at some point, but I expect Geno Smith to ultimately prevail at home.

Bills vs Patriots: BUF 21-30 Total Points Band (+150)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

Buffalo scored 29 points in the first meeting between these teams this season. The Bills have scored between 20 and 32 points in five of their past six games, giving them a good chance of landing in this final point range, and the Patriots have not allowed more than 27 points in their last seven games.

Rams @ Giants: LAR To Record First Sack (-130)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1.5 Units

The Giants have allowed 77 sacks, by far the most in the NFL, and New York ranks 29th in offensive line pass-blocking grade on Pro Football Focus for Week 17. In two of his three starts this season, Tyrod Taylor was sacked three-plus times, while Matthew Stafford has been sacked eight times in his last seven games.

Week 17 NFL Player Props

Demarcus Robinson: Over 31.5 Receiving Yards (-120) @ Giants

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1.5 Units

Robinson has cleared this number in each of his past four games, and he finished with a season-high 82 receiving yards in Week 16. The Rams’ emerging No. 3 WR has a top 5 WR/CB matchup grade on PFF against the Giants CBs for Week 17.

Brock Purdy: Over 258.5 Passing Yards (-115) @ Commanders

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

Purdy is averaging 270 passing yards per game this season, and he gets an ideal matchup to quickly put the Week 16 debacle behind him. Washington has allowed the third-most passing yards to quarterbacks and will get carved up by the San Francisco QB and his playmakers.

Jahmyr Gibbs: Over 52.5 Rushing Yards (-115) @ Cowboys

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1.5 Units

Over the past four weeks, Dallas has allowed the second-most rushing yards to opposing running backs. Gibbs has gotten past this projected rushing yardage total in eight of his last nine games, and the Lions have the second-best run-blocking grade on PFF for Week 17.

D’Andre Swift: Over 68.5 Rushing Yards (-115) vs Cardinals

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

I went with Swift last week at Over 65.5 rushing yards, and those who followed along cashed out, as he finished with 92 rushing yards, his highest total since Week 3. The Eagles have the best run-blocking grade for an offensive line on PFF for Week 17, and Arizona has allowed the second-most rushing yards to RBs this season, so let’s do it again.

Chris Olave: Longest Reception Over 24.5 Yards (-110) @ Buccaneers

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 Unit

Olave has made it past this week’s projected long reception total in four of his past five games. He has a top 6 WR/CB matchup grade against the Tampa Bay CBs on PFF for Week 17, and the Buccaneers have allowed the most receiving yards to opposing WRs in 2023.
