NFL Week 6 Best Bets

Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

If it weren’t for gambling, fantasy football and the early morning start, I am sure you wouldn’t be paying any attention to this game. These two Florida teams have combined for one win so far this season and both look absolutely putrid on offense.

However, the Dolphins are the more talented team and they have absolutely no incentive to tank this year. They traded away their own 2022 first-round pick to move up in last year’s draft to acquire Jaylen Waddle. Miami believes it is a playoff team and needs to start stacking some wins to get back into contention. This does feel like a good week for them to get one, as Jacksonville has really struggled on both sides of the ball.

Don’t expect this to be a high-quality game by any means, but look for the Dolphins to come out on top in London.

Dolphins vs Jaguars Prediction: Dolphins 24, Jaguars 17

Dolphins vs Jaguars Best Bet: Dolphins -3 (-110) at Caesars

The Dolphins are favored in this game at -3. That feels like a lot of points for a team with a 1-4 record, but that actually has more to say about their opponent than them.

Both Jacoby Brissett and Trevor Lawrence have been up and down this season, but the Dolphins have the far better defense and coaching staff. They should be able to create a game plan that makes Lawrence feel uncomfortable. Look for the Dolphins to create a few turnovers on defense and ultimately win by at least a field goal.

Dolphins vs. Jaguars Best Bet: Under 47 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Both of these offenses are averaging less than 19 points per game and it doesn’t feel like it’s getting better for either side. Miami has scored just 17 points in each of the last two games and were shut out by the Bills in Week 2.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has yet to have a game this season where they have managed to score more than 21 points and everything feels like a struggle on offense. Lawrence is making plays down the field, but the Jaguars are rarely able to turn those plays into points.

Expect a low-scoring game and don’t be shocked if this is a 13-10 type of game going into the fourth quarter. The Under seems like a very easy bet here in Week 6.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars QB

The Jaguars, led by rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence, rank fifth-worst in the NFL in scoring with an average of 18.6 points per game through the opening five games of the 2021 season. (Image: USA TODAY Sports)

Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears

The Packers probably should have lost to the Bengals multiple times in Week 5, but they found a way to win in overtime on a Mason Crosby field goal. Something about this team just feels special, as this could be the last run for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

In Week 6, Green Bay will take on the Chicago Bears and Justin Fields. This is a team that Rodgers has dominated throughout this career, winning 20 of 25 meetings. In fact, Rodgers has thrown 55 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions against the Bears during his career.

Considering the Bears still have a ways to go on offense, don’t expect them to keep pace with the Packers for very long in this game. Take the Packers to win by double-digits in this NFC North matchup.

Packers vs Bears Prediction: Packers 30, Bears 17

Packers vs Bears Best Bet: Packers -6 (-110) at Caesars

Not only have the Packers had a lot of success against the Bears recently, but they’ve also performed extremely well against the spread. Green Bay is 4-1 ATS in its last five games against Chicago and has won 10 of the last 11 meetings on the road. The Packers don’t fear the Bears and love to run up the score whenever possible.

While it’s hard to make the Packers a six-point favorite on the road, that is where this line should be. Look for the Packers to have no problem at all putting away the Bears in Chicago in Week 6.

Packers vs Bears Best Bet: Over 44 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

You have to give the Bears credit for improving their offense since Fields has entered the lineup. Over the last two weeks, the Bears have averaged 22 points per game on offense. While that isn’t fantastic, it’s a big improvement compared to the first three weeks of the year during which they amassed 40 total points.

Can the Bears score 20 or more points against the Packers on Sunday? That feels reasonable considering all of the injuries on defense for Green Bay, but to expect much more than that doesn’t seem like a smart bet.

Still, look for the Over to hit in Chicago as the Packers could easily score 30 or more points in this game. Rodgers loves playing in Chicago and he will want to run up the score at least one more time before he potentially leaves the Packers.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have had some tough scheduling breaks this year. They will now face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6 after coming off another Monday Night Football appearance in Week 5 against the Colts. That is especially tough considering the Chargers might be the most difficult matchup the Ravens have had yet this season.

As good as Lamar Jackson has been this year, Justin Herbert has been even better. In fact, you can make a case that no quarterback in the league has been better than Herbert through five games. With Baltimore having so many injuries on defense and specifically the secondary, look for Herbert to go off once again.

Chargers vs Ravens Prediction: Chargers 31, Ravens 28

Chargers vs Ravens Best Bet: Chargers +2.5 (-110) at Caesars

You can make a case that the Chargers are the best team in the AFC. They beat the Chiefs in Kansas City and knocked off the Browns and Raiders at home. They have a franchise quarterback in place and a head coach in Brandon Staley that is going to be aggressive at all times.

The Chargers are used to playing without much of a home-field advantage, so going on the road doesn’t seem to be an issue. It just doesn’t make sense that the Chargers are getting 2.5 points, especially with the Ravens playing on a short week.

Baltimore is a very good home team, but the Chargers should have no problem keeping this close if they don’t win outright.

Chargers vs Ravens Best Bet: Over 51 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

Both the Chargers and the Ravens have been outstanding on offense this season. The Chargers are averaging over 28 points per game and their offense seems to be getting better and better each week.

The Ravens are the league’s most explosive rushing team and with Jackson continuing to improve as a passer, they can score over 30 points in any given game. As long as Baltimore can protect Jackson, he should be able to torch this defense.

Look for both teams to approach 30 points in this game, allowing the Over to hit with ease in Baltimore.
