The heavy favorite, the star player, the team of destiny can all be derailed by injury at any given moment. Entering Week 10, the true contenders are separating themselves from the early-season pretenders as the playoff field begins to take shape.
Several teams’ championship aspirations will be eliminated by an injury, however, while underperforming squads may enjoy a second-half surge with the return of key players from injured reserve.
Injury updates occur every day, every hour, and every moment right up to kickoff. Having a licensed physical therapist interpret the NFL Week 10 injury reports will help you gain an advantage.
Below are the top NFL Week 10 injuries to consider when placing your Week 10 NFL betting picks. Please note that all NFL Week 10 odds and lines are current as of Thursday, November 11 at 9 AM EST.
NFL Week 10 Injuries & Betting Tips
Sam Darnold, QB, Carolina Panthers (Right Scapular Fracture)
Carolina Panthers @ Arizona Cardinals
Sam Darnold suffered a shoulder injury in last week’s loss to the New England Patriots that was revealed to be an incomplete scapular fracture. The scapula is important as the rotator cuff originates from there and allows for overhead movement required for throwing.
It’s important to note that he also suffered a shoulder injury the week prior on the same play that he suffered his concussion. His timeline has been established at 4-to-6 weeks after being placed on the injured reserve. The biggest issue that he will have is throwing without pain or compensation when he returns.

PJ Walker steps in under center for what will be a brutal road matchup against the 8-1 Arizona Cardinals. My betting pick is 2 units on the Cardinals Moneyline (-550) at Caesars.

Zack Moss, RB, Buffalo Bills (Concussion)
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Zack Moss suffered a head injury early in the third quarter of Buffalo’s stunning loss to Jacksonville and was later diagnosed with a concussion. This is his first publicly reported concussion dating back to college.
Moss must pass through the NFL’s 5-stage concussion protocol before he can return to play. Each concussion has a unique recovery and practice participation will be the litmus test to determine if he can play Sunday.
Moss did not practice Wednesday and if he does not clear the protocol, the bulk of the workload falls to Devin Singletary and Matt Breida.

With Moss potentially missing Week 10, the Bills will continue to rely on their dynamic passing game against the lowly Jets. Look for Buffalo to bounce back in a major way here, making my NFL bet of the day 1.5 units for the Bills to cover the -12 spread (-110) at Caesars.
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins (Left Middle Finger Fracture)
Miami Dolphins vs Baltimore Ravens
Tua Tagovailoa was a late scratch on Sunday with a small middle finger fracture in his throwing hand, which he originally sustained in Week 8 against Buffalo.
Attempting to play through this injury would make gripping the football difficult, leading to poor accuracy and ball security. He is officially questionable for Week 10 with Jacoby Brissett is expected to fill in for him again on Thursday Night Football.

Miami’s offense has been a trainwreck all season and I don’t expect that to change this week. My betting pick is 0.5 units on the Under 46.5 (-110) at Caesars.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints (Knee)
New Orleans Saints @ Tennessee Titans
Alvin Kamara was a surprise addition to the injury report this week with a knee injury suffered in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Fortunately, he was able to finish the game which is typically a good sign in determining the severity of the injury.
Video review doesn’t show a clear mechanism of injury but a knee designation suggests either a mild MCL sprain or contusion. Both injuries could be played through but may limit his production. If Kamara doesn’t play Sunday, then his workload would go to newly re-signed Mark Ingram.

The Saints’ quarterback situation remains unsettled and if Kamara doesn’t play or is limited, that could affect their NFL gameday odds against the high-octane Tennessee Titans. Even with the uncertainty, my betting pick is 1.5 units on the Over 44.5 (-110) at Caesars.
Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Foot)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Football Team
Chris Godwin appeared on the injury report Wednesday with a foot injury that forced him to miss practice. The details behind the injury are not yet known as he is currently in “wait-and-see” mode, but this could be yet another blow to Tampa Bay’s depleted receiving corps.
In addition to Godwin’s injury, the Buccaneers are also dealing with Antonio Brown’s mysterious left ankle injury that has him still in a walking boot and crutch. He has been out since Week 6 and doesn’t appear anywhere close to returning.
The Bucs are also without Rob Gronkowski as he works through back spasms, a likely byproduct of the numerous back injuries suffered earlier in his career.

Without potentially all three, this leaves Mike Evans as the only healthy pass-catcher for Tom Brady. Given the lack of weapons and Washington’s defensive approach, my betting pick is 0.5 units on the Under 51.5 (-110) at Caesars.
Other Week 10 Notable Injuries
- Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is working through a right low ankle sprain suffered Sunday’s win, but he is not expected to miss any time.
- Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards Helaire has been designated to return from the IR following his MCL sprain in Week 5.
- Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford suffered a left low ankle sprain in Sunday night’s loss to the Tennessee Titans but it should not limit his performance.
- Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson has been designated to return from the IR following a neck injury that caused him to miss the last 4 games.
- San Francisco 49ers WR Mohamed Sanu has been placed on injured reserve with an MCL sprain and will miss at least the next 3 games.
- Pittsburgh Steelers WR Chase Claypool is week-to-week with a toe injury from Monday’s win over the Chicago Bears that was initially feared to be season-ending.
