Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 7 Prop Bets | Stanley Cup Playoffs Props & Odds

Last Updated: Feb 15, 2023

In a series that saw the first five games won by the home team, the New York Rangers continue the trend, upending the Carolina Panthers at home in Game 6, on the back of goalie Igor Shesterkin and two-time goal-scorer Filip Chytil.

Will Carolina respond in Game 7 by holding serve, or will the Rangers break serve to end their season? What are the best NHL playoff props for this series-closing marquee game?

For Monday night, let’s try to end the second round on a high note for Game 7 of Hurricanes-Rangers.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Sunday, May 29 at 10 a.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 7 Props

Carolina Hurricanes by two goals (+525)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

While player props have been quite the success this round, taking these calculated risks has not paid off the past several games.

The two-goal margin (+525) worked in Game 5 as Carolina was content not to push things too much. Game 7 may feel different as Carolina could need an empty-net goal to provide this final margin.

Lastly. Carolina playing a bit more disciplined at home with looser officiating should help. Should.

Honestly, these props carry much danger which is why they are low fractional wagers.

Carolina to win 4-1 or 3-1 (+1500)

WAGER: 0.1 Units Each

Now, the goal in this crucial situation is to wager with one’s head. It is Game 7. With Rod Brind’amour having the last line change, that has been a kingmaker in this series.

Expect Carolina to finish what it started in this seventh game. Anything else would be quite a surprise. Toss some milk money on both scores and see what happens.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 7 Player Props

Mika Zibanejad: Over 0.5 Power Play Points (+200)

WAGER: 0.1 Units

The easy part of the Mika Zibanejad prop: New York’s top-line center just needs a power-play goal or power-play assist. He has scored on the man advantage in three straight games.

This carries its own risk because, at some point, Carolina has to get its penalty kill together, right? The prop has paid off on itself several times over now. It may be a case of getting a bit greedy but at +200, scaling back the wager is reasonable.

Honestly, the Carolina penalty kill has not looked like itself since Game 3 in Boston. Taking advantage of Zibanejad against what looks far from being the number one penalty kill in the NHL is prudent.

Seth Jarvis: Over 0.5 Assists (+210)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Seth Jarvis deserved a better fate on Saturday night. He created several high-danger scoring chances, but Igor Shesterkin foiled him and the rest of the Carolina Hurricanes far too often. While Carolina got two by the goalie, it could have been easily five or six.

The Jarvis shot prop is now -180 for 1.5 shots which could be bet at 0.25 units. Jarvis will get at least 2-3 shots at home as Carolina projects around 35 shots tonight. Betting on at least a helper from Jarvis feels like a wager worth making.

Sebastian Aho Over 2.5 Shots (-125)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis were two of Carolina’s best players in Game 6. They just did not get fully rewarded for all the chances they created.

Bettors like that this number backed off from Game 5 at -135. That makes this prop easier to digest for tonight. Also, the Aho anytime goal prop rests at +200 for those willing to go in a different direction. For another kick at the can, Aho scoring anytime with a Carolina regulation win is fetching +340 currently.

With the series tied at three, the center realizes a date with Tampa is there for the taking. Three or more shots seem very likely given the urgency and pressure Aho will feel.

PREVIOUSLY: Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 6 Props

After a familiar formula yet again showed itself in Game 5, the question is now what about Game 6?

So, what reasonable props are out there as the New York Rangers try to force a Game 7?

For Saturday night, here are a few more bets to ponder.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 6 Props

Winning Score: Rangers 3 Hurricanes 1 (+2000)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

The fear is that this misses out but the margin may not. In the case that happens, the “winning by two goals" number in regulation was hovering around +600 to +700 at press time.

The two-goal margin (+375) worked like a charm in Game 5 as Carolina never looked dangerous for that “fourth goal." It did seem that New York’s urgency crept in a little during the last five minutes of regulation.

Finally.

Also, expect New York again to amp up the intensity at home once more.

Honestly, this is another one of those picks where you toss a few dollars and see what happens.

Any team to win without allowing a goal (+475)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Again, there are ways to spread a few dollars here and there while getting a little plus-value, as well. This is one of those types of bets available for Game 6.

The Under keeps on connecting and this embraces that philosophy. Anyway, no one would be surprised if a blanking did occur in Game 6. Let us leave it at that.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 6 Player Props

Player props will be available later on Friday night or very early Saturday morning. Expect an update after those props are released.

PREVIOUSLY: Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 5 Props

After a Game 4 where New York utilized home-ice advantage to near perfection, does the script predictably flip as the scene shifts back to Carolina?

And what reasonable props are there as Carolina tries to win Game 5 of this second-round series?

I like a few more bets for Thursday night, so let’s take a quick look.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Wednesday, May 25 at 10 a.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 5 Props

Winning Score: Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 (+1750)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

The fear with Carolina is that they have that one “yakker" of a game at the worst possible time. Some believe that may happen in the next round if they advance.

This reverse bet in Game 4 for the Rangers almost work until a late goal by Andrew Copp foiled our hopes. Let’s take one more shot at this.

Also, expect Carolina to get off to a quick start. A goal within the first 10 minutes comes in at -155, by the way.

Simply, if the teams keep playing to around the same outcome, why not just roll with it with minor tweaks?

Carolina Hurricanes win and Under 6.5 Goals in 60 minutes (+180)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

If picking the Carolina Hurricanes to win in regulation at +100 is not enough, there is a unique way to tease some numbers for Thursday night. This prop wager allows one to take Carolina while getting a little more on the Over/Under.

The Hurricanes could very well score more than 3.5 goals by themselves in Game 5, but this may be a safer wager in case goals are harder to come by than expected.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 5 Player Props

Ryan Strome Over 0.5 Assists (+100)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

The luxury is basically opting for the anytime assist instead of aiming for the power-play helper. Ryan Strome at even money to dish out one point this way is reasonable even on the road.

This carries danger because there is a slight chance that New York may not score on Thursday night. Goals were much harder to come by in Carolina, as they had one in all.

However, the Rangers have played progressively better as this series has gone along. Their style is wearing on Carolina.

Seth Jarvis Over 0.5 Assists (+240)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Seth Jarvis plays, like most of the Carolina Hurricanes, differently at home. The pace should be more tilted back to the Hurricanes on Thursday night. That plays into the hands of Jarvis tallying at least a helper.

The Jarvis shot prop is at -160 for 1.5 shots which makes that an interesting side-bet too. However, an assist at this kind of plus-money is always worth a shot. There is a reason why we say use fractional units on player props.

Sebasatian Aho Over 2.5 Shots (-135)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Sebastian Aho is too good of a player to be held down for long. He will get his shots, especially at home. Even in Game 3, Aho had six scoring chances in all.

For Carolina fans, it boils down to conversions. For bettors, it just means the prop has a good chance to connect again.

Aho, with the series tied at two, realizes what is at stake. There is a rematch with the Tampa Bay Lightning waiting and Carolina remembers what happened last year. Expect a big night from Carolina’s best player and 3+ shots on goal.

PREVIOUSLY: Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 4 Props

After a Game 3 where goals were once again hard to come by, what is one to do for Game 4 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden?

And what reasonable props are there as New York tries to draw even in this second-round series?

I like a few bets for Tuesday night, so let’s take a quick look.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Monday, May 23 at 2 p.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 4 Props

Winning Margin: Rangers By 2 Goals (+600)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Carolina seems to be stuck in an endless time loop where they play well and win at home. They then seem to find ways to lose on the road and always by at least two goals.

This under-the-radar bet worked on Sunday afternoon at +900. However, the +600 odds for Tuesday still allow us to take a shot at 0.25 units or less.

Again, until Carolina shows the ability to execute differently, why stray away from what has worked?

New York Rangers in 60 minutes (+130)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

If picking the New York Rangers moneyline does not feel like enough at -115, one can go for a little more money potential at +130. That’s right. Taking the New York Rangers in 60 minutes only dropped slightly from +150 for Tuesday night.

The Hurricanes did have their chances in Game 3 but Igor Shesterkin kept shutting the door. That may just occur again in Game 4.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 4 Player Props

Chris Kreider Over 0.5 Points (-105)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

The nice thing is that Chris Kreider is nearly even-money here. His ability to create space and score whether on the power play or at even strength helps. Empty-net situations, however, as we saw in Game 3, are an issue. Any other time he seems just fine.

This is a risk but the Over of 2.5 shots at -130 carries some intrigue here as well. New York will likely end up with 8-10 high-danger chances and around 30 shots on goal. There should be enough rubber spread around for Kreider to get to three shots or greater on Tuesday night.

Adam Fox Over 0.5 Power Play Assists (+180)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Fox tallied another power-play assist on Sunday afternoon against the Hurricanes. In 10 games, the New York defenseman has three goals and eight assists. That goes along with 26 shots on goal plus 32 scoring chances.

Fox figures to get a few more man-advantage chances on Tuesday night as Carolina and New York elevate the pace. At the very least, a helper is very possible. With Carolina’s penalty kill being vulnerable on the road, maybe a man advantage assist is a viable option.

Andrei Svechnikov Over 2.5 Shots (-125)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Andrei Svechnikov should have a few goals in this series. He was robbed several times by Igor Shesterkin on Sunday, which may just fuel him even more.

Svechnikov was able to utilize his power more on Sunday and that is a trend that expects to continue throughout the rest of the series. The Over 2.5 shots is a reasonable bet to consider, but keep an eye on the anytime goal for him and fellow Russian, Artemi Panarin in Game 4.

PREVIOUSLY: Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 3 Props

After an infuriating Game 2 where both teams almost seemed unwilling to generate pace, what will happen when the scene shifts to Madison Square Garden?

And what intriguing props are there as New York tries to get back into this second-round series?

I like a few for Sunday afternoon, so let’s take a quick look.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 3 Props

Predicted Score: Rangers 3-2 (+1600)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Carolina could not score much in Game 1 or Game 2, but managed two goals in both contests. If New York can net an early goal, maybe that jolts the game into a pace that allows for a few more “celebrations."

That undying optimism is an immense thing to take a plunge on. However, the +1600 odds allow us to take a shot at 0.25 units or less.

Again, this game figures to only spiral a little out of control as the teams may play conservatively after several early, bad-bounce scoring chances.

New York Rangers in 60 minutes (+150)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

If backing the New York Rangers moneyline does not feel like enough at even money, there is the “forbidden fruit" of a regulation win at +150 lurking.

The Hurricanes did not even come close to sniffing overtime in their three road encounters against the Boston Bruins. If New York is going to get back in this series, Game 3 may just be it.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 3 Player Props

Updated player props will be coming closer to game time on Sunday afternoon for Game 3.

PREVIOUSLY: Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 2 Props

After a Game 1 that went to overtime, what can we expect from the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers in Game 2?

And what interesting props are there for the taking as Carolina looks to take a 2-0 lead in this second-round series?

I like a few on the docket, so let’s take a quick look.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Thursday, May 19 at 11 a.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 2 Props

Race to 3 Goals: Hurricanes (-117)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Carolina started off very slowly in Game 1. Some even joked about the Hurricanes’ lack of pulse during the first contest. Thankfully, they did get things going late.

That leads to some optimism for Game 2. Carolina should be able to get to three goals — even if an empty-net goal is needed.

Again, the early game or two is about keeping wagers manageable. Do bet carefully here.

Hurricanes to Score First (-160)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Carolina expects to get off to a better start but that (-160) is a bit steep. Coming down on the fractions of a unit can help spread the betting around a little on Friday night.

The Hurricanes scored the final two goals during Game 1 which increases their chances they raise their urgency for a Game 2 first goal. Given what had occurred in Round 1 versus Boston, expect a reversion back to a more “normal" pattern.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 2 Player Props

Seth Jarvis Over 0.5 Points (-105)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

The mere fact that Seth Jarvis is getting top-line ice time is important. His ability to create space and make plays often pays off. It did on Wednesday night. He has played right around 18.5 minutes the past two games and came away with an assist in Game 1.

This is dangerous, but even the shots on goal prop at 2.5 may be one to look at as Jarvis is getting at least a half dozen shot attempts a night. However, points may be more in his wheelhouse. He has three goals and three assists in eight games so far for Carolina in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Adam Fox Over 0.5 Assists (-105)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Fox has been excellent from the blueline in these playoffs. In eight games, the New York defenseman has three goals and seven assists. That goes along with 22 shots on goal and 25 scoring chances.

Fox should get a few more chances on Friday night as Carolina and New York start to open up pace-wise. At the very least, a helper could be in his future. Take the Over at near even money on the assists for Game 2.

Sebastian Aho Over 2.5 Shots (-145)

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Aho looked more like himself in Game 1. On Wednesday night, he scored a goal, had four shots, and also generated six scoring chances. He was very active over the final 30+ minutes of action.

Aho and his line are quite difficult to contain, especially at home. Expect more of the same on Friday night as Aho could easily generate 3-5 shots on goal. Don’t be surprised if he finds his way onto the scoresheet once again, but take the Over on his shots prop at the very least.

PREVIOUSLY: Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 1 Props

The Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers both have some interesting props that can be put into play for Game 1 Wednesday night.

There is a standard one that can be used and maybe a couple of others on the docket. Let’s take a quick look.

All NHL gameday odds are courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook and current as of Tuesday, May 17 at 11 a.m. ET.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 1 Props

Race to 3 Goals: Hurricanes (-116)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Given the fact that Carolina averaged 4.67 goals per game in its wins against New York, the race to three seems to be a foregone conclusion. That may be so and partially why at -116, this prop is still reasonable.

Again, the early game or two is about keeping wagers in front of you. Do not bet with your heart. Bet with your head.

Exact Score: Hurricanes Win 4-2 (+1600)

WAGER: 0.25 Units

Carolina and the race to four goals is (+155), which can make for a nice, hedge wager here. That being said, the feeling is that New York can score a couple of goals.

Take a sliver of a unit and make a bet here. Do it at least two to three times in a longer series. If it pays off once, it pays for at least a round.

Hurricanes vs Rangers Game 1 Player Props

Andrei Svechnikov Anytime Goalscorer (+200)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The mere fact that Andrei Svechnikov has longer odds, albeit very slightly, over players like Chris Kreider and Sebastian Aho says hammer this. Svechnikov had three goals against Boston in seven games and does have a goal and three assists in four career games against New York.

This is a risk but Svechnikov’s shot has been fierce and he is averaging nearly three shots a contest and four scoring chances a night.

Chris Kreider Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-130)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Kreider came up big against Pittsburgh with five goals and two assists in seven games. More importantly, he had 25 shots on goal, which averages out to 3.57 per game.

Kreider should be able to get some chances on Wednesday night as Carolina and New York get accustomed to each other. Take the Over on this one.
