My NFL touchdown prop column delivered some success in Week 7, as DK Metcalf found the end zone in Seattle’s 34-14 victory against Atlanta.
However, it could’ve been an even better week had Jalen Hurts not poached a pair of one-yard scores away from Saquon Barkley, robbing us of his multi-touchdown prop.
I also came close with Nick Chubb’s first touchdown prop, as the returning Cleveland running back secured his team’s first score and the game’s second after Cincinnati ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown.
Still, I’ll take some confidence from being that close as I offer my best NFL TD props for Week 8.

Sportsbook Play of the Day
Week 8 Anytime TD Props
Travis Kelce: Anytime TD (+110)
This is only the second time this season I’ve recommended Kelce, who stunningly remains scoreless after seven weeks.
However, I have a hunch his touchdown drought ends Sunday, which also just so happens to be National Tight Ends Day — the George Kittle-inspired “holiday” that takes place every fourth Sunday in October. Last year, Kelce celebrated the holiday by torching the Chargers, making a season-high 12 catches for a season-high 179 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes and the offense will be eager to prove a point against a Raiders team that beat Kansas City on Christmas Day and openly mocked the Chiefs quarterback during training camp. Coming at the GOAT like that doesn’t usually work out well, so Kelce should benefit from a bounce-back performance from the three-time Super Bowl MVP.
In a game the Chiefs are projected to win by double digits, back Kelce to find paydirt as one of your NFL best bets today.
Broncos D/ST: Anytime TD (+380)
I have never recommended a defense in this column before, but there’s always a first time for everything.
Denver has the NFL’s third-best defense per DVOA and a tantalizing home date against the Carolina Panthers, who will begrudgingly give the ball back to second-year quarterback Bryce Young after veteran Andy Dalton sprained his thumb in a car accident earlier this week.
- Get our staff’s thoughts on every game with our NFL picks against the spread.
The 2023 No. 1 overall pick has 13 interceptions and two fumbles in 20 career games, and his completion percentage has dipped from 59.8% to 56.9% this season. That’s not ideal, especially going into a matchup against a Denver defense with 10 takeaways on the year, two of which have been returned for touchdowns.
The Broncos also have a significant special teams advantage in this matchup, as their unit is ranked second in DVOA while Carolina is 24th. While I wouldn’t go overboard on this prop, I feel there’s a decent chance Denver’s defense makes a game-changing play on Sunday.
Week 8 First TD Props
Hunter Henry: First TD (+1700)
When betting first touchdown props, I’m typically looking for an underdog team that I think can get on the board first. This week, I like the New England Patriots to do that at home against the reeling New York Jets.
If you’ve watched the Jets try to play defense in recent weeks, you’ve likely noticed that they can’t stop the run. Pittsburgh’s Najee Harris rushed for 102 yards and a score last week against New York, and Bills rookie Ray Davis had 20 carries for 97 yards the week prior.
Unfortunately, the Patriots can’t take advantage of this weakness since they have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. So, it’ll be on Drake Maye to take advantage of a Jets secondary dealing with a cluster of injuries at safety.
- See how else I’m targeting this game in my NFL parlays today.
Strong safety Chuck Clark (ankle) is on IR, and his backup Ashtyn Davis (concussion) didn’t practice Thursday. Neither did free safety Tony Adams (hamstring), which could thrust Jalen Mills and Isaiah Oliver into starting roles.
Plus, did I mention it’s National Tight Ends Day? Henry has turned 14 targets into 11 catches, 131 receiving yards, and a touchdown over the last two weeks. He has a good chance of scoring Sunday, so back this play up with an anytime TD bet at +300.
Week 8 Multiple TD Props
Tyreek Hill: 2+ TDs (+800)
Hill told fantasy football players everywhere to start him this week, so you better believe I’m expecting a big game from the speedster on Sunday.
Miami’s star wideout has been held out of the end zone since Week 1 and made just one catch (on two targets) for eight yards last week. However, much of that lack of production can be blamed on lousy quarterback play from the trio of Skylar Thompson, Tyler Huntley, and Tim Boyle.

Tua Tagovailoa’s return to the lineup this week should breathe new life into Hill, who should be ready to feast on an Arizona defense allowing 236.9 passing yards per game. The Cardinals have conceded 10 receiving touchdowns, including a multi-score game from Packers wideout Romeo Doubs just two weeks ago.
Hill had a pair of multi-touchdown games last season and is a great candidate for a breakout game at home against the Cardinals.
How NFL Anytime TD Prop Betting Works
When wagering on NFL touchdown props, you can pick a player to score a touchdown in the following ways:
- Anytime Touchdown: Choose a player to score a touchdown at any point in the game.
- First Touchdown: Your selection needs to score the game’s first touchdown.
- Last Touchdown: The play has to score the game’s final touchdown.
- Multiple Touchdowns: You can pick a player to score 2+ or 3+ touchdowns.
Some betting sites may offer “Next Touchdown" props as a live bet. This is where you choose which player scores the game’s next touchdown.
Each of these props has various odds. A player with a higher implied probability of scoring a touchdown will have shorter odds.
Choosing “First," “Next," “Last," or “Multiple" touchdown props will have larger payouts because they’re less likely to happen.
One important note about touchdown props: This does not include passing touchdowns if you choose a quarterback. You would need your quarterback to find the end zone with a rushing touchdown or a rare receiving score on a trick play.
NFL bets can also be made on other player props, such as receiving yards or total interceptions.

Best Anytime TD Prop Bets
These are the best touchdown prop bets to target:
- Anytime Touchdown: It’s hard enough to pick a player to score a touchdown, so you don’t need to make it even more difficult by specifying whether it’s the first or last score of the game. Please keep it simple and stick to anytime touchdown props.
- Multiple Touchdowns: If you want to shoot for the moon, you can take a player who gets a lot of red-zone usage to score more than one touchdown. A good example of this is Derrick Henry. Be sure to put less money on this bet than your anytime selection.
I suggest avoiding first or last touchdown bets because they can be random.
Anytime TD Betting Strategy
This is the strategy you should follow when targeting touchdown props:
- Choose a player on a team with a high implied team total. For example, if the Eagles are favored by four points in a game with a 50-point total, it means they have an implied total of 27 points. The more touchdowns a team scores, the better chance you hit your bet, so keep this in mind.
- Target a player heavily involved in the offense, especially in the red zone. You can look at a receiver’s target share or a running back’s red-zone usage to help you select. One good example is D.K. Metcalf, the main option for Seattle inside the 20-yard line.
- Be sure not to risk too much of your bankroll on touchdown props. Touchdowns can sometimes be random, so you’ll want to ensure you’re not too heavily invested in this market.
