Cowboys vs Eagles Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Oct 31, 2023

The NFL Week 9 slate features a few heavyweight matchups, including the Dallas Cowboys visiting the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field (4:25 p.m. ET).

Philadelphia (7-1) overcame a slow start Sunday to defeat the Washington Commanders 38-31, while Dallas (5-2) jumped on the Los Angeles Rams early and rolled to a 43-20 victory.

Let’s dive into the matchup and break down some of our best bets.

Cowboys vs Eagles Odds

NFL odds used for this Dallas vs Philadelphia preview were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of Oct. 30 at 2:15 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Eagles (-155) • Cowboys (+130)
  • Spread: Eagles -3 (-105) • Cowboys +3 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 46.5 (-110) • Under 46.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Eagles 24.75, Cowboys 21.75

Cowboys vs Eagles Predictions

Score Pick: Eagles 27, Cowboys 23

The Eagles and Cowboys are separated by only two games atop the NFC East and are two of the three leading contenders to win the conference.

After an inauspicious showing against the Jets, Philadelphia has turned it on the last two weeks. The Eagles topped 30 points in wins over the Dolphins and Commanders and are one of three teams, including Dallas, still undefeated at home (3-0).

Jalen Hurts has been reportedly dealing with a knee bruise, but it doesn’t seem to be affecting his play.

Hurts threw a season-high four touchdown passes against Washington, two of which went to A.J. Brown. Brown has had at least 125 yards receiving in six straight games.

While Dallas is right there in terms of talent, the Eagles get a slight edge at home.

Cowboys vs Eagles Best Bets & Props

Eagles -3 (-105)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1.5 units

The Eagles are a legitimate Super Bowl contender, maybe even the team to beat in the NFL. And they only got stronger last week, trading for two-time All-Pro Kevin Byard to shore up a banged-up secondary.

Although their defense didn’t perform up to par against Washington, allowing 472 yards and 31 points, they have the pass rushers to slow down Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ big-play passing game.

Dallas has been a bit one-dimensional of late, too, leading to speculation that it could look to add a running back at Tuesday’s trade deadline.

Tony Pollard is averaging 3.9 yards per carry and has just one 100-plus-yard rushing game this season.

The Eagles are good enough to expose those weaknesses. I’m taking Philadelphia -3 as my NFL bet of the day.

Eagles 1H (-148)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

No stranger to fast starts, the Eagles have led at halftime in three of their last four games. Sunday was an exception, but I like the Eagles to come out strong at home.

Prescott has been sacked at least three times in four straight games. If Dallas is unable to establish its running game early behind Pollard, it will struggle to generate much offense against one of the NFL’s best fronts.

Eagles Over 2.5 TDs (-155)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

Right now, outside of Tyreek Hill, there may be no better playmaker in the NFL than Brown.

The two-time Pro Bowler is second in the league in receiving with 939 yards. Even if Dallas prioritizes slowing him down, the Eagles have plenty of other viable options to turn to, including DeVonta Smith. This is where losing Trevon Diggs for the season really hurts.

The Eagles have scored 69 points across the last two weeks and rank third in the NFL in scoring (28.0 points per game). Don’t overthink it. They’re set up for another big day.

Cowboys vs Eagles Same-Game Parlay

Cowboys vs Eagles SGP (+282)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

  • Eagles (-155)
  • Over 46.5 (-110)
  • Eagles 1H (-148)

Statistically, Philadelphia and Dallas are two of the three-highest scoring teams in the NFL. They’ve combined to average 56.1 points per game.

Even though Hurts did not play the last time these teams met – in Week 16 of last season – they played to a 40-34 shootout. While I don’t expect as many points this time around, both offenses should do enough to hit Over 46.5.

All things being equal, the Eagles are a slightly healthier and better positioned to win at Lincoln Financial Field. Keep in mind that both of Dallas’ losses came on the road.
