2026 The Players Championship Predictions: 4 Picks for TPC Sawgrass

Last Updated: 4 hours ago

The Players Championship is one of the marquee events on the PGA Tour schedule, which is why it is often dubbed golf’s fifth major.

This event has one of the highest purses on Tour, with $25 million on the line, including payouts of more than $1 million to the top five golfers on the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon.

It also has a loaded field of 123 players, including reigning champion Rory McIlroy and two-time winner Scottie Scheffler.

As we get set for this week’s event at TPC Sawgrass, let’s dig into the odds and my 2026 Players Championship predictions.

John Arlia 2026 PGA Tour Betting Record: Winner Picks 1-9 (+19.75 Units), Matchups 4-1 (+2.92 Units), Finishing Props 1-4 (-0.9 Units)

2026 Players Championship Winner Predictions

Collin Morikawa (+2100)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Morikawa failed to live up to his lofty standards last season, but he is once again showing why he is one of the best golfers on the planet.

The two-time major champion has finished inside the top 10 in each of his last three starts, including a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

TPC Sawgrass is a course that should suit Morikawa perfectly, as his accuracy off the tee and elite iron play should help him avoid the water lurking on nearly every hole.

He finished in a tie for 10th here last year despite a Saturday round of 77, and he’s in way better form right now than he was then.

I’m backing Morikawa to win the Players Championship with one of my best golf betting picks today.

Ludvig Aberg (+2900)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Since its move from May to March, the Players Championship has seen a run of elite champions, so I’m staying near the top of the board for my winner picks.

Aberg has bounced back nicely from a slow start to the season, which saw him withdraw from the American Express due to illness and miss the cut the following week at the Farmers Insurance Open.

However, the Swede posted his best result of the season last week, finishing in a tie for third at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he ranked second in strokes gained from tee to green (+2.45 per round).

If he can continue to gain throughout the bag, he’ll have a chance to pick up the biggest win to date of his young career.

2026 Players Championship Best Bets

72-Hole Matchup: Justin Rose (-105) vs J.J. Spaun

WAGER: 1.05 Units

This matchup is intriguing because both players are in woefully poor form entering this week’s Players Championship.

Rose and Spaun missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational and Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is particularly impressive given that those were small-field signature events where only a handful of players missed the weekend.

Still, Rose has shown the potential to snap out of it, as he did by winning the Farmers in January, the week after a missed cut at the Amex. He also has a knack for popping up at the biggest events of the season.

Spaun hasn’t finished better than T-40 in any of his five starts this season and looks to have completely lost the form that saw him win the U.S. Open and lose to Rory McIlroy in a playoff here last year.

Top-20 Finish: Si Woo Kim (+106)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Kim has been one of the most consistent players on Tour early this season, posting five top-20 finishes in seven events.

That includes a T-13 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, his best result at Bay Hill in 11 career starts.

TPC Sawgrass is a much better course fit for Kim, who burst onto the scene with a win here back in 2017 and has enjoyed plenty of success on other Pete Dye designs.

Among those is PGA West, which is part of the course rotation for the American Express, where he finished in a tie for sixth in January and won back in 2021.
