Game 1 of the World Series begins Friday night in Toronto when the Blue Jays host the Los Angeles Dodgers at 8 p.m. ET.
Below, I’ll provide my MLB best bets today for the matchup.
MLB Best Bets for Dodgers vs Blue Jays World Series Game 1
All MLB odds used for these best bets are current as of Friday, Oct. 24, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Dodgers ML (-157)
Leading off my best MLB bets tonight, I’m taking the Dodgers moneyline.
The Blue Jays are turning to rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage to start Game 1. He’s the youngest Game 1 starter in the World Series since 1947. However, on the other side is Dodgers starter Blake Snell. In three starts this postseason—one in the wild-card round, NLDS, and NLCS—he has a 0.86 ERA. He’s been completely dominant, and that’ll continue.
The Blue Jays are taking on an incredible pitcher, so I’m backing the Dodgers with my MLB bet of the day.
Blake Snell Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+107)
Getting the +107 value, Snell striking out seven batters or more is one of my favorite MLB best bets today.
This postseason, he’s started three games and has 28 strikeouts. He’s had nine strikeouts or more in all three outings. That’s the type of player I want on my side when picking the best bets for MLB tonight.
The Blue Jays average a league-low 6.72 strikeouts per game, but against this current Blue Jays roster, Snell has recorded 21 strikeouts across 74 at-bats (28.4%). He’s struck out every batter at least once, except for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1+ Hit (-230)
For the final prediction of my MLB best bets, I’ll take something safe and pick Guerrero Jr. to have at least one hit.
Snell has pitched well against him his lifetime, allowing just two hits across nine at-bats, but Guerrero Jr. has been on a tear this postseason, hitting .442 and recording a hit in 9 of 11 games.
When it comes to the best MLB prop bets today, taking something that may not offer much in the odds department, but is safe, is the right thing to do.
