Jets Rams Bet Tips

Odds & Betting Lines for Jets-Rams Picks

  • Against The Spread: Rams -17 (-121)/Jets +17 (+100)
  • Moneyline: Rams (-1752)/Jets (+1025)
  • Total: 43.5 — Over 43.5 (-115)/Under 43.5 (-105)
  • Implied Team Totals: Rams 30.25, Jets 13.25

The winless Jets have nothing to play for but the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Rams, on the other hand, are in first place in the NFC West and must take care of business against an inferior team to continue to control their own destiny. The Rams have won four of their past five games and are currently riding a two-game winning streak.

Jets-Rams Team Key Injuries

Jets

Jets WR Jamison Crowder is dealing with injuries to both of his calves. And while he played through the injury last week, he was not himself. He was held to seven yards on 2-of-5 targets. While Crowder did not practice on Wednesday, he is expected to return this week and play on Sunday.

WR Denzel Mims, who did not play in last week’s loss due to personal reasons, returned to the team and is in line to play in Week 15. It should not matter, the Rams give up nothing to wide receivers or any other position for that matter.

Rams

The Rams are one of the healthiest teams in the NFL. They are not dealing with any new injuries of significance.

Jets-Rams Players to Watch

Jets Rams Bet Tips and Jets-Rams Picks: Breshad Perriman still poses a deep threat for Sam Darnold

Jets WR Breshad Perriman must step up to give the Jets a shot to make Sunday’s game at the Rams somewhat competitive. Perriman, a big-play threat, has the speed to beat anyone, but in his current situation, doesn’t have many opportunities to showcase it.

Since a favorable two-game stretch beginning in Week 9 in which Perriman logged three touchdowns in those two games including one game with 100+ yards, Perriman has failed to top 79 yards in three straight games while finishing with fewer than 26 yards in his most recent two outings. Perriman has not scored since Week 11.

The Rams are allowing the fewest passing yards per game this season (191.7).

Rams RB Cam Akers has been on fire of late. Following a sluggish start to the year filled with a lack of opportunity and small, lingering injuries, Akers has emerged as the Rams’ top back.

In each of his past four games, Akers has managed a touchdown or 194 total yards. In fact, he’s logged three straight games with 84 yards, including last week’s monster 194-yard outing on 32 touches, which were both career highs against the Patriots.

Dominating the Rams backfield, Akers has a terrific opportunity for another big game this week against the Jets. New York’s defense is laughable, just like their offense. The Jets’ defense is allowing the 12th fewest rushing yards per game (112.8). And while that is good, it is because you can pass all over them. Despite the tough matchup on paper, look for Akers to go off once again.

Jets-Rams Weather Report

The weather at SoFi Stadium will not affect the outcome of the game because it is a dome.

Jets-Rams Picks & Best Bet

BEST BET: Under 43.5 (-105)

While this total is a low 43.5 points, I still like the Under to hit on Sunday. With a defense as dominant as the Rams, Los Angeles sometimes does not have to do much offensively to lock up the win. This is one of those games, especially facing the Jets, who are terrible on both sides of the ball.

The Jets’ offense is averaging the fewest points per game (14.1) this season while the Rams’ defense is surrendering the third-fewest PPG (18.9).

In the past 10 games, the Rams have held the Seahawks, Patriots, Bears, Giants, and the Football Team to fewer than 16 points, four of those games, they held their foes to fewer than 10.

The Jets have also scored exactly three points in two of their past three games against the Dolphins and Seahawks. This one is going to be a blood bath.

The Under is 6-4 in the Jets’ last 10 games, and 2-1 in their past three, hitting last week.

The Under is 8-2 in the Rams’ last 10 games and 2-1in their past three games, hitting last week.

The Under is 6-0 in the Rams’ six games played at home this season.

CONSIDER: Rams -17 (-121)

I will reluctantly take the Rams giving 17 points but not as my Best Bet. 17 points in a lot to cover, but the Rams are the vastly superior team, even more so than usual compared to Jets opponents.

In two of their past three games, the Jets would have failed to cover the 17 points or push.

All the Rams’ defense has to do is hold the Jets’ offense to fewer than 10 points and hang 28 on them to cover. They should be able to do that in the first half if they really turn it on.

The Jets are 4-3 against the spread in their past seven games, failing to cover in two of their past three, including last week.

The Rams are 5-2 ATS in their past seven games, covering in two straight.

PASS: Rams (-1752)

Clearly, I am out on the Moneyline going in either direction. You will get a nothing return wagering the Rams, and despite getting a monster return betting the Jets, they have no shot to win.

I would even take the Rams starting a backup quarterback. That defense is just too much for New York’s offense who couldn’t score a touchdown against Seattle last week.
