College Football Week 11 Predictions: 4 Spread Picks for Saturday

Last Updated: a day ago

The College Football Playoff committee released its first rankings this week, giving teams an indication of where they stand with a few weeks remaining in the regular season.

That knowledge makes every Week 11 contest more meaningful, especially for teams hoping to work their way into the final CFP bracket.

Saturday’s slate will feature three matchups between ranked teams and other high-profile conference matchups, which we’ll get into in my college football Week 11 predictions.

College Football Week 11 Predictions

All college football odds used for these Week 11 best bets are current as of Friday, Nov. 7, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

BYU vs Texas Tech Best Bet: Texas Tech -11.5 (-108)

This week’s lone meeting between top-10 teams will see undefeated BYU head to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders are sizable home favorites in this Big 12 matchup, with the spread currently sitting at 11.5 points and steaming up towards 13.

That’s because TTU ranks in the top five nationally in scoring offense (43.6) and scoring defense (13.2 points allowed per game), and each of its eight wins has come by at least 23 points.

BYU has stayed unbeaten by eking out much closer contests, including a three-point home win over a Utah team that TTU beat by 24 in Salt Lake City.

This spread is significant, but I like Texas Tech to win and cover as one of my college gameday picks.

Texas A&M vs Missouri Best Bet: Texas A&M -6.5 (-115)

Texas A&M is another team putting its unblemished record on the line this weekend, as the third-ranked Aggies visit No. 22 Missouri.

The Tigers have had a week off since suffering their second setback of the season against Vanderbilt, a 17-10 road loss that also saw starting quarterback Beau Pribula go down with a leg injury.

True freshman Matt Zollers threw for 138 yards and a touchdown in relief and will start Saturday’s home date with Texas A&M.

While the Aggies’ defense hasn’t been great in recent games, Marcel Reed and the offense have made up for it by scoring 40-plus points in consecutive contests.

Ultimately, I don’t trust a true freshman making his first start against a top-five team, so I’m backing Texas A&M to win by a touchdown or more.

Oregon vs Iowa Best Bet: Iowa +6.5 (-105)

Oregon and Iowa are 4-1 in Big Ten play heading into their Saturday afternoon showdown at Kinnick Stadium.

Both teams suffered home losses to No. 2 Indiana. Iowa fell 20-15, while Oregon lost 30-20.

While the Hawkeyes endured a slow start to the season, Mark Gronowski and the offense have found their groove in recent weeks, helping Iowa to 103 points over its past three games (all victories).

Oregon didn’t play inspiring football last time out against Wisconsin in a 21-7 win, and it’s now clear that the Ducks’ midseason victory at then-No. 3 Penn State wasn’t all that impressive.

Give me the points and the Hawkeyes as one of my best college football bets today.

LSU vs Alabama Best Bet: LSU +10.5 (-110)

Games between LSU and Alabama typically have significant implications in the SEC and National Championship pictures.

However, the Tigers are 5-3 on the season and fired head coach Brian Kelly following their most recent home loss, a 49-25 shellacking at the hands of Texas A&M.

I expect LSU to get a new-coach bounce with Frank Wilson taking charge against an Alabama team that isn’t as dominant as Crimson Tide teams of years past.

Three of Alabama’s five conference victories have come by one score, so I’m taking the points with LSU on the road.
