The college football season is winding down, but plenty of meaningful action remains as we determine which teams reach the College Football Playoff.
The Week 10 slate will help in that regard, as there are three matchups between ranked teams and some other intriguing conference matchups in the Big Ten and SEC, all of which we’ll get into below.
Without further ado, let’s dive into my college football Week 10 predictions.
College Football Week 10 Predictions
All college football odds used for these Week 10 best bets are current as of Thursday, Oct. 30, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Penn State vs Ohio State Best Bet: Penn State +19.5 (-112)
Traditionally, these clashes between Penn State and Ohio State go a long way toward determining the pecking order in the Big Ten.
However, the Nittany Lions have fallen well short of expectations this season, failing to win any of their first four conference games.
Meanwhile, the Buckeyes have shown no signs of a National Championship hangover, winning all seven of their games thus far, with six victories coming by double digits.
With that said, I’m taking the points with Penn State as one of my best college football bets today. Getting nearly three touchdowns in a game with a total of 45.5 is a lot, and PSU DC Jim Knowles, who previously worked at Ohio State, should have some insight as to how to slow this Buckeyes offense.

Vanderbilt vs Texas Best Bet: Under 46.5 Points (-105)
I’m backing the Under in this SEC showdown between Vanderbilt and Texas.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning (concussion) remains a game-time decision for this matchup, meaning we could see backup Matthew Caldwell make his first start for the Longhorns.
Even with Manning at the helm, Steve Sarkisian’s offense has been inconsistent at best this campaign. The Longhorns are averaging 29 points per game, but have been held to 23 points or fewer in four of five games against Power-5 opposition.
Vanderbilt allows 18.8 points per game, and its defensive front should cause problems for the Texas offensive line.
I also expect the Longhorns’ defense to have success, as they rank third in the nation against opposing ground attacks (81.3 rush yards allowed per game) and allow just 14.6 points per game. Diego Pavia can make some plays in the passing game, but this Commodores attack is predicated on running the ball.
This game should be a defensive battle.
Georgia vs Florida Best Bet: Florida 1Q +2.5 (-105)
The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party will take place this weekend in Jacksonville when Florida and Georgia renew their historic rivalry.
The Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight meetings against the Gators, but I can see Florida keeping this game close, especially in the early going.
Georgia’s defense isn’t as dominant as it has been in years past, and Kirby Smart’s team has been very susceptible to slow starts this season.
In fact, the Bulldogs have trailed after 15 minutes in four of their five SEC games. On the other hand, Florida has built first-quarter leads against top-10 teams in LSU and Texas, and played Texas A&M to a 14-14 draw.
Look for the Gators to start fast on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville.
Oklahoma vs Tennessee Best Bet: Oklahoma +3 (-118)
This SEC showdown between Oklahoma and Tennessee is essentially a College Football Playoff elimination game, as both teams enter with two losses.
I’m backing Oklahoma to cover this three-point spread on the road because its defense is far superior to Tennessee’s. The Sooners allow 12.5 points per game, whereas the Volunteers surrender 30.9 points on average to their opponents.
OU quarterback John Mateer looked better last week after a couple of shaky games following his midseason hand injury, and I could see him leading the Sooners to an outright victory at Neyland Stadium.
Cincinnati vs Utah Best Bet: Over 55.5 Points (-110)
The ESPN College GameDay crew will be in Utah for this Big 12 matchup, as the 6-2 Utes host the 7-1 Cincinnati Bearcats.
Both of these offenses have been nearly unstoppable this season, averaging better than 38 points per game. While these defenses should provide some resistance, I’m backing quarterbacks Brendan Sorsby and Devon Dampier to continue playing at a high level.
I’ll back Over 55.5 points as one of my college gameday picks.
