My NHL goalscorer predictions missed the mark on Monday, as all three players I mentioned failed to find the back of the net.
Thankfully, Wednesday’s 15-game slate gives me plenty of opportunities to get back on track before the league takes Thursday off for Thanksgiving.
Let’s dig into my best NHL goalscorer bets today.
NHL Goalscorer Predictions Today
All hockey odds used for these NHL goalscorer predictions today are current as of Wednesday, Nov. 26, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Martin Necas: Anytime Goalscorer (+120) vs Sharks
The Colorado Avalanche are the NHL’s highest-scoring team, averaging four goals per game. They enter play Wednesday on a nine-game winning streak, so it seems fitting to target one of their top goalscorers with my first pick.
Necas ranks second on the Avalanche in goals (13) behind Nathan MacKinnon, who has almost unbettable -140 odds to score against the visiting San Jose Sharks.
San Jose allows 3.09 goals per game, but that figure rises to 3.44 on their travels. Meanwhile, the Avs are scoring 4.50 goals per game at Ball Arena this campaign.
Necas failed to record a shot on goal against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, marking the fourth such occurrence this season. After each of the previous three, he responded with a goal in the following game.
I like that trend to continue tonight in a favorable matchup for the hosts, making this my NHL pick of the day.
Evgeni Malkin: First Goalscorer (+1800) vs Sabres
NHL first goalscorer stats aren’t necessarily predictive, but I find it important to see if teams typically start fast or slow.
Evgeni Malkin’s Pittsburgh Penguins have scored first in 13 of 21 games this season, including six of 10 at home. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh’s opponent tonight, have broken a scoreless deadlock in eight of 22 contests, including just two of eight on the road.
Malkin has only six goals in 21 games this campaign, but three of those have come in his previous four outings. The 39-year-old scored the opening goal of the NHL Global Series against Nashville on Nov. 14, and I like these odds on him to score first tonight against a Sabres team that starts slow and struggles away from home.

Cutter Gauthier: Anytime Goalscorer (+145) vs Canucks
For my other NHL anytime goalscorer prop, I’m targeting Anaheim Ducks winger Cutter Gauthier.
The 2022 first-round pick leads the team with 13 goals and ranks second in the NHL in shots (97) behind Dallas’ Jason Robertson.
The Ducks rank second in the league in scoring offense, averaging 3.59 goals per game, a number that rises to 3.80 at Honda Center, where they have an 8-2-0 record this campaign.
Tonight, Anaheim hosts a Vancouver Canucks squad that allows the most goals in the NHL (3.74 per game) and has shipped 17 over its last three games.
Gauthier has been a streaky scorer this season, netting in consecutive games on three separate occasions, and I like his chances to add to that mark tonight after snapping a four-game goal drought on Saturday against Vegas.
