Twenty-eight goals were scored across the NHL last night, as each of the evening’s four games featured at least five goals.
There are nine contests on the slate for Tuesday, Nov. 11, so we should see even more players light the lamp tonight.
With that in mind, let’s dive into my best NHL goalscorer bets today.
NHL Goalscorer Predictions Today
All hockey odds used for these NHL goalscorer predictions today are current as of Tuesday, Nov. 11, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
John Tavares: Anytime Goalscorer (+165) @ Bruins
For my NHL pick of the day, I’m riding the recent form of Toronto Maple Leafs star John Tavares.
The 35-year-old has a goal in three consecutive games, including a power-play tally against a Boston Bruins team on Saturday that he’ll face again tonight.
The Maple Leafs rank fifth in the NHL in scoring (3.69 goals per game) and have scored at least three times in nine consecutive contests.
Tavares (nine goals) is the leading scorer on this high-scoring Toronto outfit, and I like his chances of reaching double-digits for the season tonight.
Jaden Schwartz: First Goalscorer (+1300) vs Blue Jackets
Next up, I’m backing Seattle Kraken center Jaden Schwartz to open the scoring against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
NHL first goalscorer stats are difficult to come by, but a scan through the box score shows that Schwartz has scored Seattle’s first team goal on four occasions this season, two of which were also the opening goal of the game.
The 33-year-old most recently achieved both outcomes in Sunday’s 2-1 loss at Dallas, beating Casey DeSmith after just three minutes and 15 seconds of play.
Columbus allows 3.33 goals per game and is playing on the second night of a back-to-back, so I’ll take this rare opportunity to back a Kraken goalscorer.
Joel Eriksson Ek: Anytime Goalscorer (+210) vs Sharks
For my other NHL anytime goalscorer prop, I’m targeting Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek.
The 28-year-old is one of three Wild players with at least 50 shots on goal this season. However, Eriksson Ek (two goals) has not found the back of the net as regularly as Kirill Kaprisov (10 goals) and Matt Boldy (eight).
The Swede’s shooting percentage of 3.9% currently falls well below the standard range of outcomes he has set the last four seasons (9.3% to 11.7%).
Eriksson Ek is due for some positive regression, and I think it starts tonight against the San Jose Sharks, a team he scored against during a 6-5 overtime loss on Oct. 26.
