Monday’s NHL schedule was hit-and-miss for NHL goalscorer predictions, as five games featured at least seven total goals while four finished with three goals or fewer.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to target the right contests for Tuesday’s eight-game slate.
Let’s dig into my best NHL goalscorer bets today.
NHL Goalscorer Predictions Today
All hockey odds used for these NHL goalscorer predictions today are current as of Tuesday, Jan. 20, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Connor McDavid: Anytime Goalscorer (-105) vs Devils
These odds aren’t the most appealing for an NHL goalscorer prop, but I can’t ignore Connor McDavid tonight.
The three-time league MVP leads the Oilers in goals (30) and shots (186) and ranks second in the NHL in both categories behind Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon. However, McDavid hasn’t scored in five consecutive contests, his longest drought since starting the season goalless through six games.
Tonight, the Edmonton Oilers will host the a New Jersey Devils team playing on the second night of a back-to-back after recording a 2-1 overtime victory in Calgary on Monday. They’ll once again be without second-leading scorer, Leon Draisaitl (25 goals), who is away from the team to attend to a family member’s illness in Germany.
That leaves McDavid as the lone option in a terrific matchup at Rogers Centre, where the Oilers have averaged 3.73 goals per game. Back him to light the lamp as your NHL pick of the day.
Mika Zibanejad: First Goalscorer (+1300) @ Kings
NHL first goalscorer stats point towards the New York Rangers opening the scoring tonight against the Los Angeles Kings.
New York has taken the lead in 17 of its 28 road games this season (60.7%), while Los Angeles has done so in just 11 of 24 contests at Crypto.com Arena (45.8%).
When it comes to scoring goals, there are only two reliable Rangers to choose from: Mika Zibanejad (21 goals) and Artemi Panarin (19 goals).
Zibanejad has been in great form in 2026, scoring nine times in eight games since the turn of the year, including a pair of hat tricks. He also has been a strong bet in this market, as he netted the first goal in three of those contests, bringing his total to eight for the season.

Nikita Kucherov: Anytime Goalscorer (+110) vs Sharks
For my other NHL anytime goalscorer prop, I’m backing Tampa Bay Lightning star Nikita Kucherov.
The Lightning have been the hottest team in hockey lately, winning 12 of their last 13 games. During that stretch, Tampa Bay has scored at least four goals in 11 contests.

Kucherov scored in a 7-3 win over San Jose on Jan. 3 and has four goals in six games since that matchup.
I like his odds to continue his hot streak against a Sharks team that allows the seventh-most goals in the NHL on the road (3.52 per game) and is playing on second night of back-to-back.
