Monday was a relatively average night in the NHL when it comes to scoring, as all five games featured at least five goals, but none managed more than seven.
However, there were still some highlight goalscoring performances, as Nashville’s Filip Forsberg scored a hat trick and Florida’s Sam Reinhart netted a pair of goals.
Tuesday’s 10-game slate should offer even more opportunities for us to find some players to light the lamp.
Let’s dig into my best NHL goalscorer bets today.
NHL Goalscorer Predictions Today
All hockey odds used for these NHL goalscorer predictions today are current as of Tuesday, Dec. 16, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Leon Draisaitl: Anytime Goalscorer (+120) @ Penguins
Draisaitl is in the midst of his longest scoring drought of the season (four games), but I like his chances to end it on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins are on a five-game losing streak and have allowed at least four goals in five consecutive home games, including the first four contests of this current home stand.
Also, these teams swapped goaltenders on Friday, so it could be a weird night for the guys between the pipes.
Draisaitl scored three times in two meetings with Pittsburgh last season, so I’m taking him to light the lamp as my NHL pick of the day.
Macklin Celebrini: First Goalscorer (+1100) vs Flames
NHL first goalscorer stats aren’t necessarily predictive, but it’s worth noting that the Flames have scored first in just six of 19 road games this season.
Tonight, Calgary will visit a San Jose Sharks side that is led by second-year standout Macklin Celebrini. The 19-year-old has scored 16 goals in 33 games this campaign, seven of which have come at the SAP Center.

Celebrini netted five of those seven goals in the first period; four were the Sharks’ first goal of the game, and two opened the scoring overall.
If San Jose, which owns a 9-5-3 record on home ice, scores first as expected, there’s a good chance Celebrini will be the one celebrating.
Kirill Marchenko: Anytime Goalscorer (+190) vs Ducks
For my other NHL anytime goalscorer prop, I’m targeting Columbus Blue Jackets winger Kirill Marchenko.
The 25-year-old ranks second on the team in shots (87) and third in goals (10), though his scoring pace is down slightly from his career-best mark (31) that he set last season.
Tonight, Marchenko will face an Anaheim Ducks squad allowing the fifth-most goals away from home (3.50). The visitors are also playing on the second night of a back-to-back after beating the New York Rangers 4-1 at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
Marchenko scored in both meetings against the Ducks last season, so I like his chances to snap a four-game goal drought tonight.
