MLB Props Of The Day: Best Baseball Props Today 9/16/21
Nelson Cruz, Tampa Bay Rays vs. Detroit Tigers
To Record An RBI (+100)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 2 units)
The Detroit Tigers will send left-hander Tyler Alexander to the mound tonight, who’s been decent this year but has really struggled against righties (.812 OPS). He’s also given up 14 home runs across 83 2/3 innings this season, 12 of which have come against right-handed hitters. We could be looking at a productive evening for Nelson Cruz, who has a career 153 wRC+ against southpaws and is enjoying a strong September with a .976 OPS and 12 RBIs in 14 games this month.
Mike Zunino, Tampa Bay Rays vs. Detroit Tigers
To Record A Hit (-150)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.67 units)
Cruz isn’t the only player in Tampa Bay’s lineup with favorable splits against lefties. While Mike Zunino is hitting only .127 versus right-handed pitchers this season, he’s raked lefties to the tune of a .346 average over 118 plate appearances. With better numbers against southpaws throughout his career as well, taking a chance on Zunino to record a base knock is one of our best MLB prop picks today.
Framber Valdez, Houston Astros at Texas Rangers
To Record A Win (-115)
Wager: 0.5 units (win would pay 0.93 units)
Framber Valdez has had plenty of success against the Texas Rangers, winning both of his starts against them this year while allowing just two earned runs over 13 innings. Valdez is having a strong season overall with a 3.26 ERA and a 3.96 FIP for the Houston Astros, who should be able to give him plenty of run support with their potent lineup. With wins in 10 of his 19 starts this year, Valdez is a good bet to record another W against one of the worst teams in the league.
