One week after a race dominated by Max Verstappen and his fanbase, we head to Great Britain. The British Grand Prix is the home race of Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Lando Norris.
That means on top of the usual want to win, at least four racers will want to finish strong for their country or, in Max’s case, spoil the homecoming.
Silverstone is home to the original Grand Prix and one of the more exciting race environments on the 2023 schedule; 70 overtakes happened in last year’s race. It is also a track where the safety car gets a workout.
Silverstone is where Zhou Guanyu had his horrific crash on Turn 1.

Verstappen will always be the favorite in today’s F1 hierarchy simply because he has the best results over the past year-plus.
For this reason, I will always consider betting on him, given his relative odds of winning each week, especially on open tracks such as Silverstone.
F1 United Kingdom Sergio Pérez Tips
Kudos to Pérez for his comeback podium finish at the Austrian GP. It is clear that when locked in, Checo is a top driver in F1. That is why he continues to see his odds as the second-lowest majority of weeks.
The only issue is it stunts his betting market because his best odds to win are always in props sans Verstappen. That wills keep bets for Pérez down and more than likely aimed at podium finishes.
At Silverstone, betting Checo outright is very live because of the expected elevated pace and potential rain will add another layer of difficulty.

The greatest F1 driver of all time (for now) has strung together multiple strong races before settling for 8th last week after starting towards the back of the grid.
He has two podiums this season, which is down for Hamilton but good considering the Mercedes Benz car’s issues.
Hamilton also has three wins at Silverstone in the last four races there and finished 3rd in 2022.

The part of this particular prop bet that may seem more likely to fail is Leclerc over Carlos Sainz. Leclerc is the better driver and has continued to be the better despite Ferrari’s continued iffy decision-making at times.
Sainz won the British GP in 2022, but that was in part to a safety flag that allowed for a tighter race and Leclerc to play defense against Pérez. I expect Leclerc to flex his driving skills and top Sainz.
