Nearly 60 percent of the NFL currently holds a record of .500 or better heading into Week 11, which makes each win vitally important and each injury equally devastating. Several teams are one injury away from their season going off the rails while others continue marching forward despite losing key contributors.
Several reports indicate what the injury is and provide the player’s status while others are vaguer and require a skilled evaluator to dissect the clues. Having a licensed physical therapist interpret the NFL Week 11 injury reports will help you gain an advantage.
Below are the top NFL Week 11 injuries to consider when placing your Week 11 NFL betting picks. Please note that all NFL Week 11 odds and lines are current as of Thursday, November 18 at 10 AM EST.
NFL Week 11 Injuries & Betting Tips
Chase Young, DE, Washington Football Team (Right ACL Tear)
Washington Football Team @ Carolina Panthers
Chase Young’s season ended unceremoniously Sunday with a right ACL tear midway through the second quarter. This was the result of Young attempting to bend around the edge when he planted hard on his right leg while pushing to the left, placing a valgus force through the knee and creating the mechanism of injury for the ACL tear.
Despite all the advances in rehabilitation, Young still has an arduous journey to return to the field. Based on general timelines, he could potentially be ready for training camp if this was an isolated tear.

If other structures are involved such as the MCL or meniscus, this could extend his timeline into the 2022 season. When he does return, he may struggle with the fluidity to utilize all his pass rush moves and beat the tackle as he has done so often before.
Washington is already without starting defensive end Montez Sweat due to a broken jaw and losing Young really rips the heart out of its defense. Despite knocking off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, Washington will be hard-pressed to repeat that success in Week 11 against a resurgent Panthers squad.
My betting pick is 1 unit on Carolina to cover the -3.5 spread (+100) at Caesars.

Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers (Right MCL Sprain)
Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings
Aaron Jones avoided a similar fate to that of Young when he went down with a right knee injury during the third quarter of Sunday’s win over the Seattle Seahawks. Fortunately, Jones just suffered an MCL sprain and is only expected to miss 1-to-2 weeks.
The MCL is a multilayered ligament that lies on the inside portion of the knee, acting as a stabilizer during cutting and pivoting — essential moves for an elusive running back. This is an injury that Jones could have potentially played through if the stakes were higher, but he would have lacked explosiveness and the ability to juke defenders in open space.

While Jones is out, AJ Dillon is expected to lead the backfield after performing well in relief against Seattle. I don’t think Green Bay’s offense will skip a beat against the Vikings, which makes my NFL bet of the day 1 unit for the Packers to cover the -2 spread (-110) at Caesars.
Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Atlanta Falcons (Right High-Ankle Sprain)
Atlanta Falcons vs New England Patriots
Cordarrelle Patterson, in the midst of a career year, suffered what appeared to be a right high-ankle sprain against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He was able to return briefly, but his presence did not help the Falcons as they were dismantled 43-3.
Reports indicate that Patterson may miss several weeks due to the injury. This is unfortunately common following a high-ankle sprain due to the instability within the syndesmosis.
Atlanta’s versatile back is questionable heading into Thursday Night Football against New England, but would be wholly ineffective if he suits up. I don’t believe he will even dress for the game.

Without Patterson, Mike Davis steps into the starting role in the short week. With the Falcons missing their top offensive weapon against one of the hottest teams in football, my betting pick is 1.5 units on the Patriots to cover the -6.5 spread (-120) at Caesars.
TJ Watt, DE, Pittsburgh Steelers (Left MCL Sprain/Hip Injury)
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Los Angeles Chargers
TJ Watt suffered a left knee and hip injury while tackling Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff at the end of the third quarter on Sunday. By video, he appeared to suffer an MCL sprain, but what isn’t clear is what he injured in his hip. He underwent an MRI that showed no structural damage, but this suggests that ligament or muscle damage is still present.
The MCL injury is fairly straightforward in terms of recovery and rehab, but the circumstances surrounding his hip injury are murkier. Having injuries to both the hip and knee joint make planting off that leg around the edge immensely difficult, rendering him one-dimensional and restricted to one side.

Watt did not practice Wednesday and I’m not certain that he plays Sunday. Pittsburgh is also without WR Chase Claypool (toe) and QB Ben Roethlisberger (COVID).
Accordingly, I am not confident in the Steelers heading into their Sunday Night Football matchup with the Chargers. While the NFL gameday odds may continue to change based on updates, my betting pick is 0.75 units on the Under 47 (-105) at BetMGM.
Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions (Oblique Strain)
Detroit Lions @ Cleveland Browns
Jared Goff suffered an oblique strain against the Steelers on Sunday which he acknowledged may have limited him more than he anticipated at the time. The obliques are important in throwing as they prevent lumbar hyperextension during the cocking phase and activate to rotate the trunk during acceleration.
It’s not clear which side Goff injured, but he either will not be able to wind up for longer throws or he will lose speed on all of his throws, possibly affecting his accuracy. Goff states that he can play through pain, but functionally he must be able to perform.

Tim Boyle has taken first-team reps in practice this week while Goff recovers, but he is trending towards not playing which I believe is the right move. The Browns are working through several injuries of their own and with Boyle under center, this should be a low-scoring affair. My betting pick is 0.5 units on the Under 43.5 (-110) at Caesars.
Other Week 11 Notable Injuries
- Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods is done for the season after tearing his ACL in practice last Friday, a day after the team signed Odell Beckham Jr.
- Washington Football Team QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has been shut down for the season following his hip subluxation in Week 1 after it did not heal as well as the team hoped.
- Green Bay Packers DE Whitney Mercilus is out for the season following a bicep tear that will require surgery to repair. Teammate LB Rashan Gary will attempt to play through a hyperextended elbow with a brace.
- Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert is currently in concussion protocol and is in danger of missing Week 11.
- Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield suffered a knee contusion that knocked him out of Sunday’s game against the Patriots briefly before the coaching staff kept him out to protect against further injury.
- Tennessee Titans LB Bud Dupree is currently dealing with abdominal and knee injuries that will possibly force him out for Week 11.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers DT Vita Vea is dealing with a left MCL sprain and bone bruise that may keep him out of Monday’s game against the New York Giants.
