Texans vs Bengals Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Nov 7, 2023

The Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins are all on a bye for Week 10, meaning some of the top Super Bowl contenders will be getting some rest.

Another Super Bowl contender will be in action when the Cincinnati Bengals host the Houston Texans. As Burrow’s health has improved, so has the Bengals’ record, as they have reeled off four straight victories, two of which came over the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.

Let’s dig into their matchup with the Texans and highlight some wagers to consider.

Texans vs Bengals Odds

NFL odds used for this Houston vs Cincinnati preview were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of Nov. 7, 2023, at 1:00pm ET.

  • Moneyline: Bengals (-310) • Texans (+250)
  • Spread: Bengals -6.5 (-115) • Texans +6.5 (-105)
  • Total Points: Over 48 (-110) • Under 48 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Bengals 27.5, Texans 20.5

Texans vs Bengals Predictions

Score Pick: Bengals 27, Texans 17

The Bengals and their offense have come alive now that Joe Burrow is healthy again. In his first four games, he had two total touchdown passes, and in three of those games, he passed for fewer than 225 yards.

Due to his ankle injury, he struggled to move around the pocket, which was a big reason for his underwhelming numbers. The last four games have been a completely different story.

During their four-game winning streak, he had 10 touchdowns and three games with at least 280 passing yards. In Week 9, he lit up the Bills for 348 yards through the air.

This will be a challenging matchup for the Bengals, given how competitive the Texans have been with rookie C.J. Stroud under center.

The downside for the Texans is that this game will be played in Cincinnati. The Texans are just 1-3 on the road, compared to 3-1 at home. Look for the Bengals to take advantage and record their fifth straight win.

Texans vs Bengals Best Bets & Props

Texans Under 20.5 (-110)

The Bengals’ defense has also stepped up during their four-game winning streak. They held the Bills to 18 points in Week 9 and the 49ers to 17 points in Week 8. None of their opponents scored more than 20 points in any of those four games during their streak.

Part of the reason why the Texans have been so bad on the road is that their offense has struggled. In their four road games, they scored 19 points or fewer three times. Let’s make this our NFL bet of the day.

Bengals -6.5 (-115)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

What’s concerning about the last two road losses for the Texans is that they didn’t play good teams. They lost to the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons, scoring a combined 32 points. When they played the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, they lost 25-9. With how hot the Bengals have been, the Texans could lose this game by double-digits.

Bengals First To Score/Win (+100)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

I like taking a chance on this at even money. We don’t have to worry about the spread, with the Bengals only needing to win.

In terms of the Bengals scoring first, they have scored first in three of the four games during their winning streak. In their four road games this season, the Texans have scored a total of 10 points in the first quarter.

Texans vs Bengals Same Game Parlay

Texans vs Bengals SGP (+104)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

  • Bengals Over 23.5 Points (-225)
  • Texans Under 24.5 Points (-245)

We are taking a couple of conservative plays and combining them to still get us plus odds. The Texans have scored more than 24 points in a game three times this season, two of which came at home. The Bengals have allowed more than 24 points in a game just two times all season.

Ja’Marr Chase is dealing with a back injury that has him listed as day-to-day, but this early in the week, he’s not really in jeopardy of sitting this out.

While he didn’t perform well last week, his snap count was not limited at all. The Bengals still scored 24 points, with him underperforming. Don’t expect them to have problems putting points on the board in this matchup with a healthy Burrow running the show.
