Raiders vs Bears Predictions & Best Bets

Last Updated: Oct 19, 2023

With six teams on a bye in Week 7 and injuries piling up, it isn’t the most exciting slate of games, and one underwhelming matchup features the Raiders hosting the Bears.

Las Vegas is a respectable 3-3, including 2-1 at home, but Chicago is in more trouble, posting a 1-5 record and possibly looking at an extended absence for quarterback Justin Fields (thumb).

Let’s dig into the betting options and highlight some potentially profitable wagers.

Raiders vs Bears Odds

NFL odds used for this Las Vegas vs Chicago preview were found at DraftKings Sportsbook and are current as of October 19, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Raiders (-162) • Bears (+136)
  • Spread: Raiders -3 (-110) • Bears +3 (-110)
  • Total Points: Over 37.5 (-110) • Under 37.5 (-110)
  • Implied Score: Raiders 25.5, Bears 22

Raiders vs Bears Predictions

Score Pick: Raiders 23, Bears 17

The Raiders have taken advantage of a favorable schedule on their way to their 3-3 record. They are 0-2 against teams with a winning record, but 3-1 against teams with a losing one.

Their lone loss to a team with a losing record came on the road against the Chargers in Week 4. When they do win games, though, they don’t exactly do so in convincing fashion.

Their three wins have come by a combined nine points. They could also have their own issues at quarterback with the status of Jimmy Garoppolo (back) uncertain. Behind him on the depth chart is Aidan O’Connell and Brian Hoyer.

With Fields likely being out, it’s difficult to envision the Bears coming away with a win. Behind him on the depth chart is Tyson Bagent, who doesn’t inspire much confidence.

Their lone win this season came on the road against the Commanders, but Fields led the charge with four touchdown passes. Don’t expect their offense to have the same type of upside without him.

Raiders vs Bears Best Bets & Props

DJ Moore Over 53.5 Receiving Yards (-135)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

The Bears oddly did not look to DJ Moore early in their loss to the Vikings last week.

Midway through the third quarter, he had just one target. They did finally get him involved more in the fourth quarter as they tried to mount a comeback, leaving him to finish with five receptions for 51 yards on eight targets.

That was with Bagent under center down the stretch. With the Bears potentially having to play catchup late again, Moore should receive enough opportunities to reach this Over, making this our NFL bet of the day.

Over 3.5 Field Goals Made (-115)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

Given their issues at quarterback, both teams could have difficulties finding their way into the end zone. However, the Bears’ defense has allowed the eighth-most total yards per game (356.8) in the league.

Despite their favorable schedule, the Raiders have also given up 21.8 points per game, so both teams might be able to move the ball.

Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson made four field goals in Week 5, and Bears kicker Cairo Santos is a perfect 10-for-10 on his attempts this season.

As both teams might struggle to convert red-zone opportunities into touchdowns, their kickers could be busy.

Raiders (-162)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 1 unit

Even if Garoppolo is unable to play, the Raiders being at home provides them with a significant edge.

Not only will the Bears be without Fields, but they are also missing running back Khalil Herbert (ankle). Backup Roschon Johnson is still battling a concussion and might miss his second straight game.

There is just too much working against the Bears for them to come away with a win.

Raiders vs Bears Same-Game Parlay

Raiders vs Bears SGP (+126)

DraftKings Sportsbook • WAGER: 0.5 units

  • Raiders (-162)
  • Raiders Win Race to 20 Points (+115)

We’re already on the Raiders to earn the win at home. Despite their potential injury concerns, they still have a favorable opportunity to score at least 20 points.

The Bears have allowed at least 20 points in five of their six games. The only time they didn’t was when the Vikings scored 19 points against them in Week 6.

Chicago even gave up at least 27 points four times. Meanwhile, the Bears might have problems reaching the 20-point threshold with Fields injured, let alone reaching it before the Raiders do.

Combining these two wagers gets us to plus odds and makes for an appealing parlay.
