The NFL season rages on with Week 14 kicking off with the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
Over the course of the season, both offenses have been excellent, ranking among the top three in points per game, which certainly helps when picking TNF best bets.
However, if the season ended today, both teams would miss the playoffs, meaning this game could have massive playoff implications as they both aim to climb into, at the very least, a wild-card spot.
Below, I’ll pick my three best prop bets for Thursday Night Football.
Best Thursday Night Football Prop Bets for Cowboys vs Lions
All NFL odds used for these TNF player props bets are current as of Wednesday, Dec. 3, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jahmyr Gibbs: Under 78.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
For the first of my best bets for Thursday Night Football, I’m taking the under on Jahmyr Gibbs’ rushing yards.
Over their last three games, the Cowboys are holding opponents to just 69.7 rushing yards per game.
As for running backs, none over that stretch have run for more than 58 yards.
Gibbs is getting the bulk of the work lately, receiving 71.2% of the Lions’ running back carries over their last three games.
However, the Cowboys will be far more beatable through the air. Gibbs will help in that regard, making the Under on his rush yards my NFL pick of the day.
Ross Dwelley: Under 1.5 Receptions (-110)
Next up in my series of best Thursday Night Football prop bets, I’m looking at Dwelley, who will now be the Lions’ third-string tight end.
The Lions may be without Sam LaPorta for the remainder of the season, and backup tight end Brock Wright hasn’t practiced this week with a neck injury.
Thus, Dwelley would be the next man up. However, he caught just one pass for three yards on three targets last week.
Over his career, which spans 111 games, he’s had two catches or more only 11 times because he’s primarily a blocking tight end.
If Wright is out, expect the Lions to turn more toward players like Jameson Williams, Tom Kennedy, and Isaac TeSlaa.
Dak Prescott: Over 1.5 Passing TDs (-201)
The Lions are allowing two passing touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks. Over their last five games, they’ve allowed multiple touchdown passes four times.
As for Prescott himself, he’s had multiple touchdown passes in eight of 12 games. He ranks second in the NFL in passing touchdowns with 25.
