NFL Week 17 Best Bets: 3 Spread Picks for Sunday’s Slate

Last Updated: 5 hours ago

Week 17 is here.

The NFL playoff picture is starting to take shape, but there is still much to be decided as the regular season winds down.

With a 7-7-1 mark on the season, here are my favorite NFL Week 17 predictions.

NFL Week 17 Best Bets

All NFL odds used for these Week 17 best bets are current as of Wednesday, Dec. 24, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

New England Patriots -13.5 (-108) @ New York Jets

Brady Cook will start again at quarterback for the Jets. In three games (two starts), the undrafted rookie has thrown one touchdown and six interceptions while getting sacked 17 times.

Unsurprisingly, the Jets were outscored 111-36 in those contests.

This is a big number to cover, and Cook should fare slightly better at home, but the Patriots will be motivated to lock up the AFC’s No. 1 seed.

With that in mind, I’m rolling with New England -13.5 as my NFL pick of the day.

Jacksonville Jaguars -6.5 (-112) @ Indianapolis Colts

The Colts dropped their fifth straight game Monday, 48-27 to the 49ers, and are in danger of missing the playoffs after a 7-1 start.

Not to go unnoticed, Philip Rivers threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns, his highest passing total since Week 17 of the 2020 season.

It’s been fun to see Rivers still sling it at age 44, but the Jaguars have won six straight and hope to maintain control of the AFC South.

For this reason, Jacksonville -6.5 is one of my favorite Week 17 NFL picks.

New Orleans Saints -2.5 (-115) @ Tennessee Titans

The Saints have won three straight and are 5-2 against the spread (3-1 on the road) in Tyler Shough’s first seven starts.

Look for the rookie quarterback to keep the momentum going against the hapless Titans, who still own the NFL’s second-worst point differential (minus-152) despite beating the Chiefs.
