Packers vs Lions Predictions: 5 Picks for NFL Thanksgiving Game 2025

Last Updated: Nov 25, 2025

The NFL’s Thanksgiving Day triple-header kicks off with an NFC North rivalry game between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.

Both teams are staring up at the Chicago Bears, who sit atop the division, giving this game huge playoff implications. Of course, the Packers bested the Lions 27-13 in Week 1, but the Lions have won six of the last nine head-to-head meetings overall.

In other words, this is the perfect game to get Turkey Day started. Keep reading to check out our best Thanksgiving NFL bets for the Packers and Lions.

Packers vs Lions Predictions for Thanksgiving 2025

All NFL odds used for these Packers vs Lions Thanksgiving best bets are current as of Tuesday, Nov. 25, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Lions -2.5 (-112)

To their credit, the Packers have won their last three road games. However, they’re also just 1-4 against the spread on the road this season.

Also, this isn’t a big spread, and you want to give the Lions the benefit of the doubt at home. While the Packers have one of the best defenses in the NFL, the Lions are averaging 33.6 points per game at home.

The Green Bay offense won’t be able to keep pace if the Detroit offense gets anywhere close to that number.

I’ll take the Lions to win and cover as my NFL pick of the day.

Over 48.5 Total Points (-115)

This is one of the toughest calls among our NFL Thanksgiving game predictions.

With their strong defense and sputtering offense, the Packers have played four straight games that have finished with fewer than 48.5 points.

However, four of their five road games have hit the over, while three of Detroit’s five home games have topped 50 total points.

With four of the last five Packers-Lions games played in Detroit topping 50 points, it’s best to lean toward a high-scoring affair.

Jared Goff: Over 32.5 Pass Attempts (-114)

It’s not that the Lions don’t like their running game, but they’ve been leaning a lot on Goff’s arm lately.

He’s gone over 32.5 pass attempts in four straight games, just as he did in the Week 1 game against the Packers.

Keep in mind that Green Bay has one of the stingiest defenses against the run, allowing just 3.9 yards per carry.

That also points to the Lions relying heavily on Goff’s arm in this game.

Christian Watson: Longest Reception Over 23.5 Yards (-120)

Watson has only played in five games after last season’s ACL injury, but he’s quickly re-established himself as a bona fide deep threat.

In those five games, he already has five catches of 20 or more yards. Meanwhile, the Lions have allowed the fifth-most pass plays of 20+ yards.

That gives Watson a favorable matchup in terms of creating a big play down the field, making this one of my favorite Thanksgiving Day NFL picks.

Jahmyr Gibbs: 2+ Touchdowns (+295)

If you want to be a little aggressive with Thanksgiving Day NFL player props, Gibbs is the player to target.

He’s coming off a three-touchdown game last week against the Giants and has three multiple-touchdown performances in his last five games.

Given the way the Lions use him as a rusher and pass-catcher, Gibbs can score touchdowns in multiple ways, which is why this bet is worth a shot with plus money.
