One of the most intriguing matchups of the NFL Divisional Round games could be Saturday’s NFC West showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers.
These teams are meeting for the third time this season. The 49ers won in Seattle in Week 1, while the Seahawks beat the 49ers in Week 18 with the top seed in the NFC on the line.
It’s also worth noting that San Francisco has won its last four trips to Seattle, making it tough to make 49ers vs Seahawks predictions for this matchup.
49ers vs Seahawks Odds
All NFL odds used for these 49ers vs Seahawks best bets are current as of Wednesday, Jan. 14, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
- Moneyline: 49ers (+280) vs Seahawks (-355)
- Spread: 49ers +7 (+100) vs Seahawks -7 (-120)
- Over/Under: Over 45.5 (-105) / Under 45.5 (-115)
Apparently, San Francisco’s road win against the Eagles last week, and their Week 1 win in Seattle, aren’t all that convincing because the 49ers are underdogs by a touchdown this week.
It’s also worth noting that these two teams combined for 46 points across their two meetings this season, so the total of 45.5 points for this game is a little surprising.
49ers vs Seahawks Predictions
Score Prediction: Seahawks 20, 49ers 17
With so much familiarity between these teams, it feels like this will be a low-scoring affair, at least in the first half.
The Seahawks, in particular, may not want to take a lot of risks early on as the home team, especially since this will only be Sam Darnold’s second career playoff start.
Keep in mind that the Seahawks scored just 13 points in both of their games against the 49ers this season.
That being said, the Seattle defense should be able to rise to the occasion in the second half when the game is on the line.
After all, the Seahawks finished the season on a seven-game winning streak, giving up 16 points or less in five of those games.
That should be enough for Seattle to claim victory at home, though this figures to be a close, cagey game.
49ers vs Seahawks Best Bets
49ers +7 (+100)
Despite San Francisco losing by 10 points to the Seahawks two weeks ago, a line of a touchdown feels too big for this game.
That game was the only time the 49ers have lost in their last eight outings, so they finished the regular season just as hot as the Seahawks.

San Francisco also has a head coach and quarterback with a wealth of playoff experience, which was on full display against Philadelphia last week.
Meanwhile, this is Mike Macdonald’s playoff debut as a head coach, while Sam Darnold is making his second career playoff start. That experience will matter, and it should be enough to at least keep the 49ers close.

Under 45.5 Total Points (-115)
In the two previous meetings between these teams, the defenses have had the upper hand.
Obviously, the Seahawks allowed the fewest points in the NFL during the regular season. But the San Francisco defense has also started to step up in recent weeks.
Across two games this season, the Seahawks and 49ers combined for just 46 total points.
It’s hard to imagine these two teams suddenly getting involved in a track meet, so taking the under is my NFL pick of the day for Saturday.
