NBA Christmas games are some of my favorites to bet on, especially with marquee matchups.
We’re getting an intriguing Western Conference tilt between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. This game could be a preview of the Western Conference Finals. It’s also a rematch of their thrilling NBA Cup semifinal, where the Spurs pulled off the shocking upset.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at my Spurs vs Thunder predictions. Read on to find my NBA best bets for the point spread and game total.
Spurs vs Thunder Odds
All NBA odds used for these Spurs vs Thunder best bets are current as of Monday, Dec. 22, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
- Moneyline: Spurs (+370) vs Thunder (-485)
- Spread: Spurs +10.5 (-110) vs Thunder -10.5 (-110)
- Over/Under: Over 233.5 (-105) / Under 233.5 (-115)
Spurs vs Thunder Predictions
Score Prediction: Thunder 114, Spurs 101
At first glance, this looks like an inflated point spread, especially considering that the Spurs beat the Thunder 111-109 on Dec. 13 in the NBA Cup.
However, that was at a neutral venue in Las Vegas, whereas this game will be in Oklahoma City.
The Thunder are 13-0 at home this season, with 10 of those wins by 11+ points. Some of the teams that the Thunder have crushed at home include the Lakers (121-92) and the Warriors (126-102).
You can bet that the defending champions will be looking for a statement win to get back at the Spurs for knocking them out of the NBA Cup.
Spurs vs Thunder Best Bets for Christmas 2025
Thunder -10.5 (-110) vs Spurs
I know that the Spurs are legit contenders with Victor Wembanyama in the lineup, but this line speaks volumes to me. Expect the Spurs to be a popular play, but I’m fading the public here.
The Thunder are simply too good at home. This team ranks fifth in Offensive Rating and first in Defensive Rating. Look for them to avenge their NBA Cup loss to the Spurs in our NBA pick of the day.
Even with Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein banged up, the Thunder still have enough depth to take care of business at home. There’s also still a chance that each of these bigs can suit up for this game.
Under 233.5 Total Points (-115)
This line is slightly juiced to the Under because it’s a matchup of two of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Each of these squads ranks in the top five in Defensive Rating, with the Spurs at fifth and the Thunder at first.
When they faced each other on Dec. 13, the two teams combined for only 220 points, which is well below this number.

Perhaps oddsmakers have set this line so high due to injury concerns over Holmgren and Hartenstein, which could affect the Thunder’s interior defense.
However, I’m not ruling out that these players suit up for this big game. Even if they don’t, the Thunder are still tough on the perimeter.
