Floride TE Kyle Pitts is one of the most polarizing prospects entering the 2021 NFL draft. A transcending talent, Pittsis also viewed as the next cant-miss NFL prospect not named Trevor Lawrence.

In the past 10 drafts dating back to 2010, there have been two tight ends drafted inside the top 10. Those are Eric Ebron (10th overall in 2014) and T.J. Hockenson (8th overall in 2019). That is it. By far, Pitts is a superior talent and will be drafted as such.

In order to make this Kyle Pitts Draft Position Bet for the 2021 NFL Draft, we have to consider his possible suitors.

Kyle Pitts: 2021 NFL Draft Potential Landing Spots

Atlanta Falcons (Round 1, Pick 4)

I can’t see the Falcons selecting Matt Ryan’s heir apparent with the fourth overall pick In fact, it’s not happening. Not only is he entering his age-36 season in an era in which we are seeing pocket quarterbacks play until and into their 40s, but the Falcons and Ryan are tied for the next two seasons.

Ryan has a dead cap hit of $70.9 million in 2021. It falls to $40.5 million in 2022. It looks like the Falcons can get out of the deal in the 2023 offseason as Ryan’s cap dead cap money is projected at a reasonable $15.6 million.

If the Falcons do not draft a quarterback, they can either trade out of the pick and accumulate more draft assets or they can stay out and take the best non-quarterback available, TE Kyle Pitts.

If the Falcons land Pitts, he would make an already combustible offense that much more potent. While enemy defenses have to worry about Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, Pitts, a mismatch nightmare, can run wild.

Cincinnati Bengals (Round 1, Pick 5)

The Bengals are in a prime spot to draft Pitts and it would make a lot of sense. They need a tight end. C.J. Uzomah is coming off an injury and remains unproven while Drew Sample flashed early, never to be seen again.

Although there is a need, the Bengals are heavily linked to Ja’Marr Chase and Penei Sewell. Sewell makes the most sense as Cincinnati’s front five has been an issue for years and an injured Joe Burrow is not helping anyone.

Meanwhile, if the Bengals give Burrow an offensive weapon, they will likely go with the one their franchise quarterback already has played and has a rapport with from their days at LSU.

Dallas Cowboys (Round 1, Pick 10)

I view the Cowboys similar to the Falcons in terms of the of selection Pitts. He’d make a top-end offense better loaded with talent better. However, the Cowboys would either hope Pitts falls to them or they must trade up. While Jerry Jones is reportedly “infatuated" with Pitts, the likelihood of him going to Dallas is slim.

The Cowboys have too many holes on defense and bad contracts to waste draft assets by trading up, especially when you order a pair of capable tight ends already in Blake Jarwin — remember his offseason hype a year ago? — and Dalton Schultz.

Kyle Pitts Draft Position Bet for the 2021 NFL Draft

Miami Dolphins (Round 1, Pick 6)

I’ve had Pitts pegged to the Dolphins for a while now. Well, at least since the Dolphins traded back inside the top 10 with the Eagles following the 49ers deal. Pitts to the Dolphins makes sen see for two reasons.

  • HC Brian Flores comes from the Patriots, s team that has enjoyed success building their offense around two tight ends multiple times in the Bill Belichick era.
  • The Dolphins want to give QB Tua Tagovailoa every chance to succeed. In an offseason in which they have already added Will Fuller to a supporting cast that already includes DeVante Parker, Mike Gesicki, Myles Gaskin, and Preston Williams, Pitts would be the final piece to an offense that could erupt if the quarterback works.

While Pitts is designated as a tight end, he is versatile enough to play wide receiver. Gesicki is also versatile enough to play inline, in the slot, and on the outside. Miami’s offense with Pitts would keep the league guessing on every passing down.

What’s more, the Dolphins’ defense is already a top-end unit in the NFL. Since they have two first-round picks — 6th and 18th overall — they can use No. 6 overall to improve an offense that seemed to stall out when it mattered most last season. Pitts to the Dolphins also gives Tagobvailoa no more excuses.

Kyle Pitts Draft Position Best Bet

Over 5.5 (-115)

We live in a world in which the first four picks in the upcoming NFL Draft could be quarterbacks if the Flacons trade back. With the Bengals projected to select Chase or Sewell at No. 5 overall, the first legitimate landing spot for Pitts is sixth overall to the Dolphins, making the Over on Pitts’ Draft Position your Best Bet.
