Tulane vs Ole Miss Predictions
Score Prediction: Ole Miss 38, Tulane 20
These teams met on Sept. 20, with Ole Miss routing Tulane 45-10 at home behind a huge performance from dual-threat quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.
Making just his second start, the Division-II transfer threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns while adding 112 yards on the ground.
Much has changed since then, starting with both coaching staffs.
Lane Kiffin, who led the Rebels to a program-record 11 regular-season wins, is now at LSU, while Jon Sumrall is set to depart Tulane for Florida.
The Green Wave (11-2) will make some adjustments, but even without Kiffin calling the plays, the Rebels have far too much firepower for them to contend with.
Tulane vs Ole Miss Best Bets
Ole Miss -17.5 (-108)
As the standard-bearer for the Group of Five, Tulane will be fired up to prove it belongs in the 12-team playoff. The Green Wave are certainly better than they showed in that 35-point shellacking, which saw Ole Miss pile up over 500 yards of total offense.
But how much better? It may not matter.
Look for the Rebels, in arguably the biggest game in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium’s history, to meet the moment by rallying around new head coach Pete Golding.
For my college football pick of the day, I’m taking Ole Miss to cover 17.5 points.
Over 57.5 Total Points (-108)
If Tulane wants to have any chance of sticking around and possibly pulling an upset, it will need to score in bunches.
Ole Miss ranks near the top of the FBS in most major offensive categories — the Rebels are second in yards per game (498.1) and 11th in scoring (37.3).

As a double-digit underdog with nothing to lose based on most College Football Playoff predictions, the Green Wave will pull out all the stops in an effort to keep pace.
However, Chambliss and the Rebels will prove too tough in a high-scoring affair.
