History will be at stake when Indiana (15-0) and Miami (13-2) square off in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday (7:30 p.m., ET, ESPN) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
Curt Cignetta and the top-ranked Hoosiers are seeking to become the first FBS team to go 16-0. Can they finish the job?
As I dive deeper into the matchup, here are my top CFP National Championship predictions.

Miami vs Indiana Predictions
Score Prediction: Indiana 31, Miami 20
Indiana’s transformation from bottom-feeder to juggernaut is no longer just a cute story.
The Hoosiers steamrolled their first two opponents in the CFP, first defeating Alabama 38-3 before blitzing Oregon 56-22 to set up a trip to the National Championship.
While plenty of other teams have gone unbeaten to win the title in the CFP era — 2018 Clemson, 2019 LSU, 2022 Georgia, and 2023 Michigan all went 15-0 — none have accomplished that feat in a 16-game season.
That changes Monday. There is no stopping the Hoosiers.
Miami vs Indiana Best Bets
Indiana -8.5 (-110)
Miami gets to play a de facto home game at Hard Rock Stadium, but that might not be the advantage it seems given how well Indiana’s fan base travels. And can you blame them? Cignetti’s team is a sight to behold.
With the Heisman Trophy winner and expected No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza under center, Cignetti has Indiana operating at an historic level.

Indiana has outscored teams 94-25 in the CFP, and as good as Miami’s defense has been, the Hoosiers are simply a buzzsaw. There’s no reason to doubt them now.
For my college football pick of the day, I’m taking the Hoosiers to complete an undefeated season — and do so convincingly.
Over 47.5 Total Points (-110)
These defenses both rank top-5 in fewest points allowed, while Miami leads the country in sacks (47). Next on the list? That’d be, of course, Indiana (45).
Some might say, based on that, this matchup could surprisingly become more defense-oriented than expected.
But more than likely, given how dominant the Hoosiers have been on the other side of the ball, Mendoza and Co. will keep humming and push the total above 47.5.
