NBA First Basket Bets Tonight: Back Miller, Holmgren in NBA Cup Action

Last Updated: 18 hours ago

The NBA Cup Group Stage is coming to a close with the final games being played today and Friday.

Heading into tonight’s slate, there are seven undefeated teams in the Group Stage. Tonight, we’ll see five of those teams in action: the Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Phoenix Suns.

Within this slate, I’ll be looking for the best NBA first basket bets, including two players on those undefeated squads.

NBA First Basket Bets for Wednesday, November 26

All basketball odds used for tonight’s NBA first basket prop bets are current as of Wednesday, Nov. 26, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Knicks vs. Hornets First Basket: Brandon Miller (+1040)

For the first of my top NBA first basket props, I’ll take Brandon Miller, even though he hasn’t played much this year.

The 23-year-old has played just three games, but in those three, he’s taken the first shot 66.7% of the time and made two.

I’ll take my chances on a guy who has excelled in limited opportunities as my NBA pick of the day.

Timberwolves vs. Thunder First Basket: Chet Holmgren (+562)

The Thunder win the opening tip 66.7% of the time, while the Timberwolves are at just 47.1%.

Holmgren attempted the first shot in just 14.3% of games, but he has made four first baskets.

Given that he’s made the second-most first baskets on this slate and the Thunder have an advantage in the opening tip, I’ll roll the dice on the 7-footer.

Suns vs. Kings First Basket: Mark Williams (+670)

Williams has attempted the first shot in 27.3% of his games and has made three of them. He attempts only 7.6 2-point shots per game, but shoots 64% on them.

The Suns win the opening tip-off 66.7% of the time, giving them a massive advantage over a Kings team that wins it just 27.8% of the time.

Spurs vs. Trail Blazers First Basket: Devin Vassell (+850)

Closing out my NBA player prop bets in the first basket department is Vassell.

Vassell has started 16 games this season, and while he’s only attempted the first shot 6.3% of the time, he’s made three of them.

The Spurs have won the opening tip-off 68.8% of the time this season, while the Trail Blazers are slightly below them at 61.1%.

No player on the Spurs has more first baskets made than Vassell, making him a good value at these odds.
