There are nine games on the docket tonight, giving us ample possibilities to pick out some NBA first basket bets.
Included in this slate are the Los Angeles Lakers and superstar Luka Doncic, who is coming off a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder where he was held to his lowest point total of the season (19).
That mark was also the fewest points he’s scored in a game since he also had 19 in a loss to the Golden State Warriors on April 3 last season.
Doncic is included among my top NBA first basket bets. See the other three plays below.
NBA First Basket Bets for Friday, November 14
All basketball odds used for tonight’s NBA first basket prop bets are current as of Friday, Nov. 14, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kings vs. Timberwolves First Basket: Anthony Edwards (+363)
Leading off my NBA first basket props, I’m going with Edwards.
This season, no one on the Timberwolves attempts more shots than Edwards, who averages 18.1 per game. Of that 18.1, 8.2 are 3-point shots and 9.9 are 2-point baskets.
His opponent, the Kings, are allowing opponents to shoot 40.3% from 3-point range (29th) and 65.1% from 2-point range (27th) over their last three games.
Lakers vs. Pelicans First Basket: Luka Doncic (+430)
One of my favorite NBA player prop bets in this category is Doncic against the Pelicans.
The Pelicans have been especially bad against 2-point shots over their last three games, allowing opponents to shoot an astonishing 67.9% on these buckets.
Doncic is attempting 12.5 2-point shots per game and is shooting 63% from the field.
He’s averaging 34.9 points per game and will have the ball a ton, making this my NBA pick of the day.
Nets vs. Magic First Basket: Franz Wagner (+362)
While the Nets’ defense against 3-point shots has improved lately, they still allow the highest percentage this season at 39.6%.
That said, over their last three games, they’ve been much worse against 2-point shots, allowing teams to shoot 65.9%.
Wagner is averaging 16 shots per game, and 11.6 of them are 2-point shots, and he’s shooting 35.8% on 3-point baskets.
Blazers vs. Rockets First Basket: Jrue Holiday (+890)
For my final first basket prop, I’ll take a swing at Holiday.
The Rockets’ 3-point defense has been the worst in the league over their last three games, allowing teams to shoot 41.1% from beyond the arc.
No one on the Trail Blazers attempts more 3-point shots than Holiday, who averages 7.1 per game and is shooting 35.9% from beyond the arc.
