There’s no better feeling in hockey than lighting the lamp.
The NHL features the sport’s greatest goal scorers on a nightly basis, and three players — Nathan MacKinnon, Jack Hughes, and Cole Caufield — have separated themselves early in the 2025-26 season with 10 goals to top the scoring chart.
Two of those stars are in action tonight, and I’m featuring one of them in my best NHL goalscorer bets today.
NHL Goalscorer Predictions Today
All hockey odds used for these NHL goalscorer predictions today are current as of Tuesday, Nov. 4, and courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Nathan MacKinnon: Anytime Goalscorer (+115) vs Lightning
MacKinnon has been on a tear early this season, scoring 10 goals and recording nine assists in 13 contests.
The Colorado Avalanche star has been particularly potent at Ball Arena, scoring six times and adding four assists in five home games.
Tonight, the Avs return home from a two-game road trip to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have allowed two or fewer goals in four consecutive contests.
I expect that run to come to an end tonight, and for MacKinnon to play a role in its demise.
Kirill Kaprizov: First Goalscorer (+750) vs Predators
NHL first goalscorer stats are difficult to track, but it’s generally a good idea to target players who find the back of the net often.
Kaprizov fits that mold, having scored at least 40 goals in three of his five NHL seasons.
The Minnesota Wild winger has already tallied seven goals this season, and tonight, he’ll face a Nashville Predators side allowing 3.43 goals per contest.
Kaprizov’s most recent goal, a first-period strike against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, cashed this prop, so I’ll back the 28-year-old to get involved early once again.

Bo Horvat: Anytime Goalscorer (+150) vs Bruins
For my other NHL anytime goalscorer prop, I’m targeting New York Islanders center Bo Horvat.
The 30-year-old Ontario native leads the Isles with seven goals on the season, one of which came in a 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins last Tuesday.
Tonight, the Isles will try to avenge that defeat at UBS Arena, where Horvat has scored four times in six games.
Boston has allowed 3.43 goals per game this season, and it shipped seven goals to Ottawa in its most recent road contest. Look for Horvat to take advantage of a weak Bruins defense on Tuesday night.
