NHL Props of the Day: Best Hockey Props Today 10/21/21
Nathan MacKinnon To Score Goal (+135) at BetMGM
Colorado Avalanche at Florida Panthers, 7:00 ET
Nathan MacKinnon scored 20 goals in 48 games last season, averaging about 0.42 goals per game. The superstar center has racked up a combined 135 goals in his last four seasons, spanning 273 games.
He returned to the Avs’ lineup on Tuesday after missing two games with COVID-19. MacKinnon finished with one assist in 20:16 of ice time.
This is a good spot for MacKinnon because the Avalanche take on the Panthers in a projected high-scoring game with a 6.5-goal total. There’s a good chance that we’ll see his first goal of the season, and you have to like the value on the +135 price.

Alexander Ovechkin To Score Goal (+100) at BetMGM
Washington Capitals at New Jersey Devils, 7:00 ET
Alexander Ovechkin has gotten off to a fantastic start this season, tallying four goals and two assists in three games. Ovechkin is showing no signs of slowing down at the age of 36. He scored 24 goals in only 45 games last season and is picking up right where he left off.
Ovechkin takes on the Devils, who have allowed five goals in two games this season. This game has a high total of six goals, making this a projected high-scoring game. Ride the hot streak with Ovechkin because he remains one of the elite goal scorers in the NHL.
Alex DeBrincat To Score Goal (+130) at BetMGM
Vancouver Canucks at Chicago Blackhawks, 8:30 ET
Alex DeBrincat has put up one goal and one assist in four games this season. He was one of the best goalscorers in the league last year, scoring 32 goals in only 52 games, averaging about 0.62 goals per game.
DeBrincat is playing on the point on the top power play unit, so he’ll have several opportunities to hit this prop while receiving passes from Patrick Kane, one of the best playmakers in the NHL.
DeBrincat goes up against a Canucks team that is really struggling in goal prevention, allowing 14 goals in four games, including 12 in their last three. This game has a 6-goal total, so there’s a decent chance that we see another high-scoring affair in this spot.
I like DeBrincat’s chances at scoring his second goal of the season in this spot.
